Sure they can. They're your stupid friend. So if a person believes in a flat earth, or moon landings faked, or other such conspiracy theories, they can't be my friend.

But we all know, that this is not true!

I always wondered why there is a vacuum in space. Now I know!
And I guess that means there is a miniature Megamaid (a Minimaid??) inside every preamp and power amp vacuum tube in our bass amps! (Which would explain why my bass playing sucks sometimes!) It all makes sense now.![]()

Lol, that’s a pretty good point... I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a plane dip its nose to land.
Sure they can. They're your stupid friend.
You can't "decide" your friends aren't stupid. You can only choose to ignore it.My life has gotten exponentially better since I decided not to have stupid friends.![]()
On further reflection, I guess you can decide not to include in your set of friends those people you know who are stupid. But then, I guess, you have answered your original question. My life has gotten exponentially better since I decided not to have stupid friends.![]()

Man you're on today.I think, most "flatearthers" are egocentric!
But what do I know?

Every group has one stupid friend. Look around. Do you see the stupid one? No? Oops...Sure they can. They're your stupid friend.
Man you're on today.
No picture of Uranus?
You forgot to fix Uranus. Since this is a family show, perhaps that was deliberate.

He has a reason to believe the earth is 5000 years old. Whether or not it's a good or bad reason can't be discussed here, but he has a reason. My neighbour and I have had a few conversations similar to this one. He believes that the earth is 5000 years old. We're still talking about that... I am waiting for the right time to let him know that the earth is flat.
On another note... "No matter how you flip it, a flap jack has two sides". Dr Phil

PS... i have been waiting for someone to say Magma... I really like that word.
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.He has a reason to believe the earth is 5000 years old. Whether or not it's a good or bad reason can't be discussed here, but he has a reason.
No one has a reason to believe the earth is flat. I honestly can't tell if the flat earthers actually believe it or they're just being contrarian for the sake of contrarianness.

what the... when... when did this happen? People legitimately believe the earth is flat?
Oddly enough, I've used tubes as a counterargument with a flat earther acquaintance. He was saying that the "extreme" vacuum of space would destroy any spacecraft, yet tubes are evacuated to 1x10-6 atmospheres and are only separated from the actual atmosphere by a thin layer of glass. The pressure differential between a spacecraft like the ISS and its surroundings and that of a vacuum tube at sea level is about the same.
In which it becomes apparent that flat earthers don't understand how planes work. Or scale.![]()

Sounds about right. I USED to have a friend who was pretty normal, eccentric, but normal, and then everything became conspiracies. Even down the bizarre path to believe that “time” was a man made construct and that one cannot truly measure time because it’s unquantifiable... He went so far off the deep end with some of this stuff, myself and 4 other people who had been long time friends of his, had to step away.So if a person believes in a flat earth, or moon landings faked, or other such conspiracy theories, they can't be my friend.
But no matter how stupid something is, you will find someone who actually believes it.
