Has anyone here purchased The English Double Bass Book ?

For those who own, was wondering what your thoughts were, given the price point.

I have been thinking of splurging for it.

There is also the "Italian Double Bass" book which is also of interest.

Where is "The German Double Bass"?

Jonas Lohse's "The Double Bass Book" goes into a good bit of historical detail re: German makers/etc. It's a really great book....well thought out.

I have one and it is a beautiful, museum quality book. Pricey, but I am happy to help support the work of our bass historians. As an English bass owner, I felt some obligation...

Very much of interest! But AFAIK not yet in print. Last time I checked, a half year ago, the production was somewhat delayed (possibly to line up enough advance buyers?).

I like a good book. I understand books can be expensive but I cannot possibly get my head around the price of this book? I could see $200 max. And the sad part is that we need this book, we bassists need this book, yet the people that need it the most can't possibly afford it.
