The Explorer Bass Club

Finally a thread where I can post both my Explorer and my 412. Couldnt be wimpy if it tried although....what does a 4X15 sound like.

It's heavy. Plus, I'm already partially broken. I banged up my knees 2 years ago riding an electric dirtbike (that was way to small for me) off a jump (not a huge one, but decent size). The dirtbike landed....and then I landed on my knees. It still hurts to go up stairs. Yep, I'm young and I'm already having problems. :P

Ooh oi vei, dude. That's rough. At least your back isn't hurt, is it? Gotta take care of your back. In your case, avoid heavy lifting.

Those are not Metalman versions. They are the Z Tour model. They play fine for the thrash that I play but I dont use them for anything else. For metal, they are fine. I get a really fat sound through my RBI and an Aguilar GS412 and thats what Im looking for but they are pretty one dimensional and not super versatile. And they are huge basses, much larger than the Metalmans. So much so, alot of bassist cant play them because its too difficult to reach the F. Im big so they cover me pretty good.

Lorne, Ill get you those measurements Sunday. Both basses are at the rehearsal room for a show this weekend but, Ill get em for ya.

Alright Lorne, Ive got some measurments for the Dean Z cases. The inside of the case is 18" wide by 53" long. The body bout is 18 x 24 1/2. These are inside measurments so if your bass is smaller than this, it should fit.

Thanks Bro,it would nearly work, but the Ironbird has a 24" long body,24.5" probably wouldn't give me enough room to feel comfortable about the amount of padding

Maddening thing is,I know that someone has 10 original, unused Vintage B.C.Rich Ironbird cases, but he wants to sell them in one joblot:(
