The Fender Bassman 100T thread

While this sounds unusual, remember that there is not a huge difference between 25 and 100 watts in decibel terms. I have forgotten the "scientific rule" but it is something like to be twice as loud as ten watts you need 100 watts. The 100T is loud at 25 watts but you can hear the volume difference clearly at 100 watts. Can't see me ever gigging it at 25 watts though ;).

LOVING mine.

Hello, bassmen. I have a question and a request. First of all, how does the vintage channel compare to an old Bassman with the AA864 circuit? Also, does anyone happen to have sound samples of this amp? I've watched the two fender videos, but those were Super Bassmans, and they featured mostly the distortion channel. I kind of want to see the how it sounds pushed at 25watts. Thanks

...just came in. The GK 212 will have to suffice until I get my Dually 215 in a week or so. Stupidly I didn't bother to check the ohm tap on the amp before I gave it the initial play through...so I was running it at 4 ohm into 8  Fortunately I only pushed the master to about 3-4 for 20-30 minutes before realizing it. Jesus. Anyway, it sounds great and the overdrive is sooo nice. I can't wait to run my dist/fuzz through it after the Wings game tonight.

Distortion pedal with the amp overdrive? Hide the kids! Have fun and I hope the wings get destroyed :-)

No sir - this is at an in-ears gig so I'm using the REDDI to front of house as the clean send and the 100T in Studio mode running pretty hot as the dirty send. No cabs!

When I do use a cab though it's generally a Berg NV610 - although the aesthetic of those matching Fender cabs is mighty appealing . . .
