The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

You guys are killing me...lol. I hope fender starts shipping product soon!

Fender is delivering stock now. Just got my notice this afternoon the my Super Bassman 300, ordered August 31st from Sweetwater, is finally shipping and due to arrive Wednesday. Other sellers like MF now have them in-stock and ready to ship now too. I think Sweetwater is probably working their way through back-orders first so might be a few days there. 3 1/2 months... many a time I had to ask myself, "is it worth it"? My faith carried me through, lol. Now, let's just hope they didn't rush their building jobs too quickly after getting so far behind.

Well, I have a little instrumental jazz/blues gig at a hotel bar the day after I get the SB, which would be Thursday... I admit that I am tempted to bring the whole honkin' SB/Four10 combo... but I don't want to detract from the proper vibe by bringing something I won't be able to resist turning up. So, PF50T for that-- acquired during the long months of waiting for the SB-- and a week later, I can try out the SB/Four10.

Thar PF50T is the first tube amp I have owned, so it's all relatively new ground for me sonically, but I am looking forward to seeing how the SB expands on what the Ampeg does. I guess you could say I am moving in retrograde motion this year-- acquired a P with flats, a 2nd P with rounds, tube head, foam mute action... I am ready for the New Year, 1967.

Your going to love the SB going thru the 410...really good tone! Congrats on the new rig!

So, fewer P's than I thought, originally.

The SB arrived today and I had about 90 glorious minutes with it hooked up to a Barefaced Four10, playing a 50's Precision. I am only just getting to know this hot bundle of tubes, but my goodness, does it sound lush, just great, at least in my living room. Looking forward to playing my jazz and other basses through it and listening to the differences through this amp. 'Twas great to set the 2 channels at volume unity, and be able to switch back and forth from super clean to dirty without changing level.

Thanks to everyone here for the useful information and feedback as I was looking into these. It was worth the wait.

Nice looking rig...I bet it sounds even better! I would say it was definitely worth the wait for the SB!
