The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

The thing with the Fender transferable warranty is that you need to have the original sale receipt signed over to you by the original purchaser.

I had contacted Fender about this as I had bought my SB NIB from a production company out of NY.

I had the receipt from the company I bought it from but they were not an authorized Fender dealer, another BS rule Fender put in place. They built the amp, you would think they would support it from the build date at least.

I had to get the original sale receipt from the production company, they could have told me to pound sand, but they sent it over to me with a laundry list of equipment that they purchased along with the SB.

The total original receipt bill was for $48,000!

That is what i figure would happen, so i will just let the tech i know look at it.. at least his rate is great!

Had our regular Club gig last night. (Forgot to take pics, but. .....) usual stage-big enough for a 5 piece band. .. we're 8 piece. ...so. ..yeah. .tight! !!
Anyway. .. took the Super Bassman and 1 x 115 Bassman cab .
Just ASTOUNDING! Makes me wonder why I ever bother taking any other amp. Even thru the single 15, it punches thru with weight and authority. Simply a beautiful bass experience.
I used my G&L ASAT with Fender Flats. Man. ... I swear- with any other amp, I woulda struggled to cut thru, but this amp simply kills it! Even 1Kw amps of other types ...nup. wouldn't have cut it. We got loud. ..but this. ...not a problem.
Count me as continually impressed.

Forgot to mention on here. Went to see one of my all time favourite bands the other week, The Cult. They were awesome. There on the stage behind the bass player was a Super Bassman/ Fender 810 Neo stack. Man it looked awesome standing there.
Yeah I saw them in Sydney (@ the Enmore) noticed that too but couldn't see well enough to get exact. :)
He is an Aussie evidently.

Thursday's rig (jazz bass got some time too), first gig for the SB 300. Really excellent experience with it.

OK so last week I ordered the Bassman Pro 500 on a last minute whim instead of the TH 500 I was going to get. Best impulse buy of my musical (gear whore) life. I was so impressed with the tone and quality of the amp that I ordered the Neo 410 to go with it. Yesterday I sold my Aguilar DB751 and today I ordered the Super Bassman 300 to go with my Berg NV610 for big gigs (really mostly as my bedroom fun amp).

The Aguilar stuff is great and I have really enjoyed it but in the past few years I have pretty muched gone old school with Fender AVRI basses and flatwound strings which really seem to fit my current gigs. SO the Fender Bassman line seems like the logical choice to accompany. So now we wait with baited breath for the 410 cab and the big ol tube baby!
