The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

Well I've heard so many good things about the 115 neo cab and it just so happened that the local music store had one...

I'm planning on this cab to go to my practice space and to be used with my bassman 500 head, I'm super excited as my practice rig will now sound amazing!

Hoping to try it out tonight after work!

Toying with putting my 610Neo up for trade for a 2nd 410 Neo.

I'm assuming there isn't much difference between a 610 and 2 410s tone wise.

Any thoughts for or against?

I had two Ampeg 610hlf cabs @ 115lbs each as my only rig for some time. I went the rout of 2 fender 410 neos due to less weight and I'm able to move my rig up and down stairs on my own and that's huge as my gear lives in my basement so every gig I'm up and down stairs.

As far as tone, I think the 2 410 neos sound amazing and of course a little different than my 610hlf but man 2 410 neos are super punchy! I've not played thru a 610neo but again 2 410neos are killer and portable!

My observations when going from the neo 610 to the neo 810 was that there was a difference in tone. The 810 seemed a little more dominant in the upper mids whereas the 610 appeared a tad warmer. A subtle difference but definitely noticeable. Could have been to do with height and the horn etc. but it was apparent with the horn on and off. The 810 had more of a rock vibe - of course eq is a wonderful thing to adjust either way.
Don't know whether it would apply to the neo 610/two 410s thing.

I took the SB and 115 neo out to tonight's gig. The 115 neo sounded great and it did well for a single 15 cab but after being used to using dule 410 neos I really missed the punch of the 10's and the more mid driven tone. The 115 neo does have its own unique tone, slightly looser punch than the 410 I feel. Again the 115neo did great and super easy to load in and out.

Ok. ...just for. ....
Cricket - a game where a live cricket is bowled, over arm, towards a batter who is protecting his wickets - 3 x 1m high sticks at which the bowler aims to hit. A wooden bat is used by the batter to protect the wickets. If the cricket hits the wickets, that batter is "out" and the next batter takes his place.
Sometimes in modern days- with the animal cruelty lobby etc. ...a leather bound ball is used. This is the most common form used today. .. altho the cricket remains the preferred and most fun way.
(Btw.... for the REAL slow ones. ... this is sarcasm. ...which is very big in Australia. ...like our crickets):smug:;):bassist:
