So I have been offered a Fender SB 300 and 115 cab for a straight up trade for my Ampeg V4B and 212av. I have had the SB in the past and loved it but went for the 100 watt rig. The Ampeg has done me well but I do miss that Bassman sound.
I play in a fairly loud rock band, will the 300 and 115 hold up until I can get another 115 to throw under it?
) I did not realize that crickets in Australia bite, and can cause severe rib pain. Mean and hearty down under, eh?
I'll stay here in the States where our crickets are only hurtful during poorly attended gigs.
@BrianVengeance I have a Pignose B100V too. What a diamond in the rough that amp is.
This pic makes the SB300 look compact. Of course it's size is more squat and is possibly deeper -front to back. Many times I've loaded mine onto my NV cab and a gui**** will say. ..wow that's a beast. ...
Lovely collection.
Please name them for a thick Aussie who doesn't know all the great tube amps they make in the US.
It does. ...and it ain't. It DOES look "petite" in that pic. ..but as my guitarist friends state. .. it IS a beast! No worries mate, on top is a Pignose B100V and in the middle is a Mojotone 50w bass amp built from a kit. The Mojotone is surprisingly wide and the Pignose is pretty tall. From that perspective it definitely makes the SB300 look petite!
I usually run through the overdrive channel with volume around 5-7 and master at 3-4 ( loud punk band with 2 100w guitarists & hammer-fisted drummer), just tried maxing the master & using channel volume for overall volume for the 1st time recently-Totally changed personality of the amp! Worked better with my P-Bass than my Ric that way for some reason.

Lol - "a testicular trident" ???Interesting to know. I can't remember whether I've done that on mine- maxed the master vol etc. .. it just sounds so feckin good I've not worried.
I have tho. ...on the VINTAGE channel. ..pulled the BASS control to enable the bass 'boost' - which works a treat on my Ric 4003. Especially with the vintage bridge pup tap on. Gives it a lotta balls as well as the option to switch to the front pup and add another ball![]()
** edit** 6 x 610s is what the pic is above. He runs them on their side.
