The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

I haven't played the 10" variety Bassman Pro Neo cabs. But have heard a few negative reports re the 115s & the 410s too. But they're few n far between. Personally I think Fender hit a home run with all of em. .. the 115s from my personal experience and the others from the many glowing reports. But. ..as usual, each to their own.
Y'allknow my view on the 115s with both the Super Bassman and V4B powering em. Just great!
Glad your liking the 610.
I DO like the NV215 ....but it's a totally different kettle of fish. The mid driver really brings out the growl where the Fender 115s are all round and warm. Both great. I'm very privileged!

Hey now!!!! I'm looking g at the neo 610 for my sb300. Just wondering if you need to really crank the sb to get it to sound great? Or does it sound good sll the way up? I use my modern channel mostly. Chan vol 6 od. 4 mix7 master at about 4...I mean I'm absolutely crushing it through my Peavey pvh410 ...but wondering if the 610 is a better match.

I say,"the closer to your ears the better", which is why I use an 810 !

I had the neo 610 before swapping it for a neo 810. Absolutely superb cab and no, you definitely do not need to crank the Super Bassman to make them sound great together.

Honestly, it just seems to have a heft to every note regardless of volume to me. You just seem to be able to feel it as much as hear it at any volume. I love both the 410 & 610 TBH. I have always subscribed to the "get it close to your ears" theory with every other amp I've had, but with the SB300 it just doesn't seem to matter as much. It just seems to fill the room regardless. The 610 does sound marginally bigger than the 410, but I love the slightly more pushed sound of the 410 also. Can't really go wrong.

Hey now!! So....I've read through this whole thread and only seen a few posts referencing pre amp tube swaps...I have an amazing stash of pre and power tubes. And I'm wondering if anyone has subbd 12ay7 for the ax's in the sb300?... I'm not dis-satisfied with the tone of my amp...exactly the opposite actually. But I love the complexity of an ay vs ax in the pre..I do use the modern channel a lot with the od around 4 mixed at about 7. So it may or may not make that much of a difference... And you guys know how the whole tube rolling rabbit.hole goes...once you pop .you can't stop......any thoughts/experience? Thanks

Played this 92 Sabre thru it. As almost ANY bass. ...sounded amazing they the rig.

Was a regular sized Club. ... decent PA but only kick and overheads on drums, keys and vocs were thru the PA.
BASS was said to be very present out front!
