The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

I've got spring loaded ones. Can't check until I get home.

I actually thought they moved from the spring loaded ones to the recessed. Is that not correct?
I better follow the advice here and wait to see what shows up. The head and 410 will be delivered Thursday, the 115 should be Friday. I’ll just hold off until then.

Did the SB300 head ever come with recessed handles?
Not that I know of. Mine is a 2012 head, and it's got the spring loaded handles.
My 115 Bassman cabs, one I got 2nd hand, right after I got the amp, probly early '13 and I liked it so much, that I asked the local, where I bought the amp, to get me another 115.
They did and, all this is documented somewhere here on TB, it was a good 15+lbs HEAVIER than my original (2nd hand) Bassman 115. And definitely WASN'T what was stated on the advertising card in the top corner of the front grille - "under 50lbs".
I wasn't THAT concerned, but thought it really SHOULD be as advertised. So I eventually got a refund from the store, found out Fender had changed the wood the cabs were built from in between my 1st cab's serial no. & ..the (new) 2nd cab's serial no.
So, with the $$ from the refund, I searched and found an early serial no. 115 to match my initial cab.
Funny thing was, I bought the 2nd one from Canada.... I'm in Australia..... and it was STILL cheaper than a new one here... INCLUDING freight.

Oh. My.

The head and 410 cab showed up today (115 coming tomorrow).

Sounds incredible.

115 showed up, along with the new 1/4” to Speakon cables I ordered. So, here’s the complete rig.

Sweet! 3 rigs there! I'd be putting the 115 ON top of the 410 if using em together. Ymmv and each to their own natch...
I, for one, REALLY like the 20 less lbs that the SB is than the SVT-VR. That the SB's tone is all that n more is another plus!

So, a band mate and I did a bunch of experimenting last night in my rehearsal room.

The 115 definitely works amazing on top of the 410. That will for sure be how I stack them for our bigger shows this summer.

Speaking of the 115.....damn, does that cab ever sound great on its own!!! I’ve never been a 15’s guy, but this one has totally changed my mind on that. I’m pretty sure there’ll be another one in my future, for a 215 stack.

The 410 kicks serious butt, too, used alone, so it’s definitely a keeper too. Both cabs are slightly different flavors of awesome, for sure.

Would you be able to put into words the difference between the 115 and 410? I elected to go the the 410 route, have 2 of them and love the crap out of 'em, but always wondered how the 115 compared. At the time the 115 Neo was not getting the love that the 8/6/410's were receiving.
