The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

:hyper:The answer is obvious: the Fender neo 610 cab. I use my SB300 regularly with it and it sounds and looks great. Tom Bowlus liked the combo in his SB300 review in Bass Gear magazine. When I bought the neo 610 I still had my Berg NV610 and after AB'ing the two I sold the Berg! Plus the SB300 and the neo 610 look killer together. Plus it is very light......:hyper:

Is anyone rockin' the Super Bassman 300 with two matching Neo 410s? Are you happy with the sound? I prefer to have two Neo 410s rather than a Neo 810 for transportation and so on. That way it will be easy to use one 410 and then add the second 410 when needed.

Same here, currently have 1 Neo 410 and thinking of adding a second one as needed- or the 610 and sell the 410.

Finally came in today. I must say, if you haven't experienced an all tube head you're missing out..... Sooooo good! I really like the switchable channels is a HUGE plus for me. And I read something in this thread about how weighty your notes become with the 300, and that's so right on. So much warmth and presence in my case. Love it!!!

Yaks... you're spot on. But. .. not ALL tube heads are as good as this baby.
Ime/imo etc. ... It's the nicest all tube amp around.
I've be using all tube amps since I started playing in the mid 70s and this is the best I've ever had- re tone, punch, features, weight of amp and hopefully reliability- tho that will be decided over years.
The most reliable I had was an old 70s Fender Bassman 100 silverface.
Maybe it's the 6550's, but to me, this SUPER Bassman doesn't really remind me of the old Bassman's that much. This SUPER is so much more solid and tubey sounding. And with its 2nd active channel, it's just so versatile.
I'm finding it hard to leave it at home and take my lighter amps. Something I've never had b4. I always had to talk myself INTO taking the big heavy tube amps ( SVTII, Fender 300 PRO, YBA300 to name a few) as I ALWAYS love em once I'm playing. But this SUPER Bassman just oozes style & thick juicy tone. I can't refuse it. :bassist::bassist::bassist::cool::cool::smug:

Yes, I have several songs that were written around my effects and presets with pedals. I have a programmable looper to do all that, but what really sealed the deal for, even though it's a small thing, I don't have to use the footswitch to switch channels I can use the looper to do all the switching on the amp. I basically can sell any overdrive pedal I bought in the last few months, and maybe get a boost pedal to drive the tubes a bit harder.. whole new world for me, why I waited so long to dive into the tube amp world is beyond me.

Well I pulled the trigger on another
Neo 115 Bassman cab to go with the one I bought off a local bassist last month.
So the 2 neo 115s powered by the Super Bassman 300 will big gig rig.
One neo 115 for most gigs. ....
Now I'm gonna have to sell MY NV412 :cool:
and the two PF115HE's
I might keep the 2 3015's as they'll match up nicely in the Neo Bassman cabs if I ever need.
My two AE112'S I'm gonna keep... For now. Maybe. Probly. Possibly. I think.

I certainly like my TL606 cabs :-)
I wonder what the reason is for our importer only carrying the 4x10 and 6x10? I would have thought that quite a few people like 15s, but then I don't get out to see bands that often...
