The final 3, which one

Get what you want. Don't let internet strangers tell you what to get. I'm going to say Fender Jazz anything every time. Because that's what I like. Will you like what I like? I don't know.

Here are other things I like:

-German Shepherds
-Busty blondes
-Iced Cappuccino
-Classic Rock
-Beethoven
-Cheese
-Dr. Who
-Blackened anything
-A World of Love and Understanding, if you Stay Out of my Face

If all of these appeal to you, then you still should get whatever you want, and ignore my entire post.

Alvaro, it's the MIM Jazz Active deluxe I'm looking at

Well, I can't talk about that bass, so my choice would be the Sterling by MM Ray34ca. In my opinion, that's an awesome instrument for the price. I've played a few and, after a good setup (including neck shimming on one), I didn't feel them like "cheap" instruments. I think that's the absolute best option for someone looking for an EBMM on a budget.

If it were for me, I would not go active. I've had a bunch of active basses and I have gotten tired of how fiddly they are. Now I just want a passive bass that starts with a good tone.

I like Warwicks but haven't tried the new Rockbass stuff. To me, nothing feels quite like a fat warwick neck made out of a great wood. Rockbass may not give you that, though.

I do not like Music Man basses - just a ridiculous prejudice, no doubt. But the one you mentioned is active so I wouldn't have it on my list anyway.

I would choose between the passive versions of a Warwick or Jazz in my price range, and the choice would come down to which one felt the best and gave me a tone I could use.

I would personally take the money for used gear and get something nicer!
n the wonderful realm of used gear you could get a Warwick Corvette Std for $750, or a nice Stingray or Sterling for under a grand or an '08 Fender American Standard J Bass here on TB for $850.

The Rockbass isn't the same, no bubinga, wenge, ovangkol or swamp ash in sight. The MM and Fenders just aren't as great as what you could get by buying used.

I would look used by my wife is buying it me as a present and she wont buy used.

For the money that some of the rock basses are going for, you may be able to find a used real warwick. Check the classifieds. It seems like you want a unique, aggressive sounding bass. I'll admit I'm biased, but the Brubaker Brutes are aggressive sounding and in the same price range.

I have a MIM Jazz V Deluxe; I bought it after I bought a Warmoth fretless version of it and both are active. I am in love with their tone, their necks, their mids circuit especially. I've never played a Warwick but having found the Jazz's I have...I don't really need to or have the desire to.
I'm able to dial in pretty much whatever sound I'm looking for. Mind you, what you hear on a CD is a finished, polished thing and you alone through a good amp is what will honestly tell you what you have....but that said, what I sought was tonal versatility and I believe the Jazz's offer it. For years I avoided them, thinking there was something better than the traditional, but Fender nailed it man.
