One of these days I'll get them on an actual board.
The Ditto might be the most important one to me.
I think that everyone is right. I can't count the number of times I've switched out a variety of pedals. The only constants are the tuner, bass chorus and auto-wah. The only other routine visitor is usually one distortion pedal or other.
Did a list thingy. I have a feeling that it'll annoy quite a few people!
Volume, tuner, and D.I....
Most of the time though, I'm only taking a tuner to gigs.

Well, I do tell you WHY you need the pedals and what to look for when shopping for pedals in their various versions etc
Since this thread is completely opinion-based; here are 5 pedals that I'm down to:
Tuner - obvious.
Harmonic Booster is always on; I keep boost at 13:00, character off and everything else flat (12:00). That gives me a pseudo-active bass sound plus a subtle exciter effect. Also helpful to drive the JDI better. I use the onboard EQ rarely; but definitely helpful when I have to.
Decimator is always on. A good companion in noisy venues.
JDI - obvious. Typically, I send the "thru" to my amp and the "DI" to the desk; so I can use the amp purely as a personal stage monitor.
I have a truck-load of overdrives, fuzzes, octaves, filters and whatnot - but lately, I'm using them for recording purposes only. On my current bands, I can get by with a clean bass signal + hand technique + tone knob for the tonal variation I need.

if you pedal board is your amp.. tuner- volume pedal- comp- amp pedal- eq- cab sim..
so if I put that together for me for me peterson hd- hilton Volume- FEA labs optifet- my amp of choice is a mix of pedals yamaha ne-1. FEA labs Growler. master effects 300. whirlwind 10band eq. broughton audio hp/lp boost. isp beta preamp. DSM Noisemaker mini cab sim. so yeah 5 won't cut it.. lol

I'm super annoyed. Whatever that Mac is doing in the background makes my eyes bleed. I held out for a minute, then skipped to the scenes to see what pedals are recommended.
