I said I run flat most of the time, but I do use EQ. I don't use a ton of it, because my bass sounds great without it. But the EQ I use can push me forward in the mix, or make me disappear into it, or rattle your balls, or make your teeth vibrate, or hurt your eyes. But only when I want it to. I think EQ is really important...really Tone Shaping more than EQ....not really making anything equal to anything else. I don't philosophize about it. All I care about is results.

Actually, the word I used was "feeling", not "feel". As in the feeling that music imparts to you, whether listener or player. That's what it's all about, really, isn't it?
