I can't say I dislike Metal, I try and try but I just don't get it
Had a friend that primarly listened to reggae and laid back island music (he was from Hawaii) ask my band what the appeal of metal is.
My response was: Metal is adrenaline music.
All my band members agreed, that is metal's greatest appeal. Metal appeals to us younger guys with pent up energy and anger that is best (safest) to release in rapid burst of musical intensity. Generations ago Hard-Rock fulfilled that same role. That is the music my parents would play throughout the house when I was a wee lil thing. I was raised on it. It has become the norm and our generation has been desensitized to it, like generationally acquired disease immunity. The ante has been upped and stronger audio drugs are now necessary to achieve the desired effect.
oh, and the Beatles put me to sleep. Silly lyrics and slow melodies = yawn
rattle yer brain!
