If I use my imagination to fill in the gaps, I want to say that pedal sound pretty impressive. But I'd love to hear a better quality recording.

Maybe Ric's are more versatile than people give them credit. I know Ric owners believe that. I'd still like to have one again. A Ric was my first "real" bass back in high school.

The NuX has arrived!

So I just pulled it out of the mailbox and in my haste to listen to it, I just sat it on my desk and plugged my headphones into it. Humm.....this sounds good.

So I played with the computer interface, and yeah...it's cool too.

So I just put it in the chain on my board.....

This thing is good.

I gotta do some more tweaking and playing with it, but my immediate impression is that it's really hard to get a bad tone out of it. The EQ is not super sensitive and the drive control is one of the best I've used especially given that it's just two knobs...drive and blend....and to boot...it has a built in noise gate! Cranking the drive up and blend just a bit of it in actually gives you a pretty good "tube" sound.

It's still too early to give my complete assessment, and I have to let the "new" wear off of it. But so far, I'm really shocked. For $150 this thing is really solid too. Switches feel good, pots are nice and smooth with nice resistance. It feels like something that would cost $300-$500.

I'm thinking Becos for the comp, but I'm a strobe tuner man, so I'll probably got with a Turbo Tuner. I've owned two of them and they were awesome.

The power supply is the real kicker. I want a good quiet isolated power supply. I think MXR has a small form factor one with 4 outputs.

I have an mxr mini iso brick on (under) one of my board.
It actually has 5 outputs.
It supplies a ton of power for something so tiny.
The downside which I was unaware of before purchasing is that it is powered by a wall wart style adapter, not a standard iec cable. I was able to mount the wall wart plug under the board as well so it didn't really matter to me, but it seems worth mentioning.

I haven't even loaded any IRs in yet. I briefly played with the amp/cab sim, but since I seldom use them, I will tinker with them later.

Yeah, I saw the wall wart. I'm not that concerned with that as it moves the transformer away from the pedals...so that's cool.

I have ordered a Becos Mini, a Turbo Tuner mini, an Dunlop mini volume pedal, a MXR mini iso brick, and a Pedaltrain Nano. Nothing on the board cost more than $150 except the Becos comp which I had to order direct from Romania. They are shutdown due to COVID-19 and I have no ETA on when it will arrive.

It will be fun to pit the light rig against the ton of bricks rig.
