I was really impressed at how tiny the Simplifier is, and how much they packed in. I actually looked at the website. It's way too much more than I need or want, but definitely cool tech.

Man, the REDDI is one hell of a DI.
Not one I want to gig but it is my go to DI in the studio.

I loved my Tube Injection. I went out to Kevin Shaw’s house and hung with him and his bass playing son Ben. The Shaw bumped off the Noble which I got a chance to A/B side by side.

The Shaw is the best sounding tube preamp I’ve ever owned, but the SLO is close, smaller, lighter, and has more features. So ultimately I sold the Shaw and it really hurt. I loved that thing!

To me the Nordie is smoother and punchier without being harsh in a full band mix. The Nordie is dead quiet and every footswitch is silent even when putting into mute live. The Minnow isn't and makes a audible pop when putting into mute . The Tone shifts on the Nordie makes it more useful and gives major tone adjustments on the fly. I liked the 4 band EQ on the minnow better but overall the Starlifter just does it live. It's the best Bass tone I've ever tried live and that's with the likes of Noble, SLO Tube Preamp, Reddi, Mesa Subway Plus, RNDI, Firefly, Ampeg and more. To me the Nordstrand just seems like a better built peace of gear over the Minnow. Again the Trickfish is really good and probably easily the 2nd best preamp I've tried. I've just not found anything that comes close to the Nordstrand live. It's like having your favorite Recording studio tone live.

I really need to try one of these. Maybe I'll be able to get my hands on one at Summer NAMM.
