All thats good if you don't mind packing a huge pedalboard. That setup is sure to sound good but it takes up alot of real estate.

All thats good if you don't mind packing a huge pedalboard. That setup is sure to sound good but it takes up alot of real estate.
Has anyone ever has any dealings with one of these Tube Preamps? Its a AMT Bricks A-Bass Alembic Tube Preamp.
Love the Arkham stuff. My OCD wants the Range knob in the middle (where the Treble is.)
Strong desire for both the Oracle and the V2 Colour Box.
Is the Arkham as tubey and warm as it looks like it'd be!?
As for the V2 Colour Box the 60hz HPF doesn't bother me. I have the Broughton HPF+LPF and often find for a lot of rooms that 60hz is the sweet spot to take out the boom and still keep a rich, tight low end. I'd
just turn it off and use the Broughton if I needed a bump below that. Love the additional eq features they added.
So much killer gear available right now. Still waiting for my little MXR Thump. Initial shipments got delayed til mid March.

I really like what little I’ve heard of the Thump online. Can’t wait for some more demos. It sounds tight. (Literally. Not in a 90’s slang way.)
Agreed. I've got a couple friends touring right now that have had it for about a month and are raving about it. I've heard a few clips from them and pre ordered based on that. They've never steered me wrong.
Can you power all of that from your Cioks7? Curious about the oracle in particular...
Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that the oracle could take 24V power and also thought the Cioks7 had a single 24V out available. With all the reading of specs of late, I likely dreamt all of that.
I guess you could use an AC line splitter and feed the Cioks (or other supply) and the Oracle from one IEC cable to the pedalboard.
I'm using the Cioks DC7 to power the tuner and the LA-1A, and run a Tripp-Lite power splitter cable to provide power to both the Cioks DC7 and the Oracle. The RNDI runs off phantom power.

I know it's technically a "preamp", but I just couldn't resist....I've got a Source Audio EQ2 reserved for me through Sweetwater. Hopefully by the end of the month??
For those who have some experience with one or both of these, I'm looking for some opinions on the Nordstrand Starlifter, and the Southampton Ictineo, and if having both would be redundant tone wise.
I have been using a SLO 3 for the last 6 months, and while it is a really nice peice of gear, I'm not really excited about it until I get the gain up to around 11 o'clock for the really nice wool it has.... But when I try to bring down the gain to get a clean smooth fat sound with the eq, I'm just not happy with the results...
So my possible solution is to go the route of using a good clean pre (di not necessary), and my first choice is probably the Ictineo... just based on the descriptions and examples... the Starlifter is also intriguing, but it seems ultra transparent, whereas the Ictineo while clean, seems capable of a clean tubey flavor given the right settings. I plan on finding some drive elsewhere (TC spark booster?). I also have a tech21 Leeds which I use for dirt which I dig alot.
I do love the wooliness that lives in the SLO, but there is no footswitch to go clean, so I might flip it...

I have no experience with the Starlifter, though those who do sing its praises quite highly. I do have the Ictineo, which I love for a clean preamp. It imparts some warmth, but I don't consider it tubey. Nor is it sterile. But there's no "wool" or "breakup" to speak of. At least not that I've experienced. You can certainly use it to make OTHER things break up, though, because it's got a ton of output on tap, especially with the boost. You can dial in a good variety of character(s) with the different controls. It does take drive pedals well, and can tame the harsh high end but turning the tone of the Ictineo south of 12:00. I love it. I have a Broughton SVPre when I want SVT-ish ampeyness, and an Ictineo when I want clean and pristine. The Starlifter is intriguing, but I find it's cost, size and power requirements prohibitive for my setup and bank account.
