The Great Bass Preamp/DI Comparison

Ok...thanks to Scuba I'm trading my SLO for the Oracle in the classifieds. If I don't like the Oracle I can always buy another SLO. But I gotta give the Oracle a try.

Should I be saying "I'm sorry" or "You're welcome?"

Like I said earlier, the advice is probably worth what you paid for it. :D

So far, we seem to be on the same level as far as judging what sounds good. We have differing opinions on what we like in some cases, but the way you describe what you hear jives pretty well with what I hear.

I never use the cab sim or FX loop in my SLO and I am running it into an RNDI, so I figured what do I have to lose to give the Oracle a try. Nothing! So I pulled the trigger. If it isn't my bag, I know the SLO is, and I can buy another one.

My only concern is the size of the Oracle. I also have to get a power cord splitter so I can power it. Ugh...I just gave the one away that I was using for my Tube Injection.

It's not as big as the Shaw. Here it is on my Metro 20:

I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to get a much shorter one. The one I had was maybe a foot long and fit nicely under the board. I think I got it off Amazon for a few bucks.

I'm probably going to have to rearrange my board....again. I've got plenty of room, especially if I move the microThumpinator back underneath the board.

Hey, that little stand could be super handy... Can you point me in the direction of where you got it?

So far I've really enjoyed following the discussion in this thread. Several items added to the G.A.S. list though!

5sg.
Sure. The platform and tripod are sold separately.

Edit: 2nd link reloaded, just in case. If it doesn’t work, try searching Amazon for “ammoon MS-12 Mini Foldable Desktop Tabletop Tripod Microphone Mic Stand Holder”
