The Great Jeezy Bass Off!!!

Then you actually know what your doing,
I was a stage lighting guy till about 5 years ago. I got tiered of traveling and missing my family. It was easy to get some work where i live now just because I actually have work ethic and can use a tape measure and show up on time:)
Dude, that's literally 2/3 of keeping any job.

It's funny, I spend so many hours here and I never saw this thread.

I'll do it during the weekend. This sounds fun.

My basses are:

- Hamer Cruise, Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pups, DR Black Beauties.
- Yamaha Pulser 400, stock pups, TI Jazz Flats.
- Yamaha BBPH, stock pups, TI Jazz Flats.
- Serek Midwestern, Guild Bisonic pups, DR HI Beams.
- Maruszczyk Sputnik, Aguilar 5SD-D2 pups, TI Jazz Flats.
Heck yeah!

Yeah bro, I had this idea about a year ago. I really thought it was gonna catch on, but I think most people are afraid to put themselves out there, or something.

Anyway, do it up bro! More the merrier.

Definitely stirs visions of this:

Is this thread still a thing? While it isn't all my basses, I did a short comparison between my Carvin V49K and my Schecter C4 (which are both in drop C). Played directly through my Focusrite Scarlett into Reaper; no amp sims, effects, or compression was used. I'll let you figure out which is which.

It never really caught on. But we're gonna make it happen one post at a time! Awesome post man

I like the first one. But, the second one has a certain high mid bite to it that would work very well in situations.

New bass added to the arnesal!

First time the jazzy's been recorded. Just a little test sample on a new song idea. This is a straight into the interface recording. Dry as heck.

I've got a couple new basses, and some new pickups in a couple more, so I think it's about time to update the Official Bass Off.

It'd be great if others would jump in.

OK I've been on TB for awhile and this is my first time seeing this thread. Cool idea, and you've got some great and interesting basses, Jeezy.

Two of my basses are off to the shop, but I'm going to try and do this with the remainder and post up here in the next few days.
Awesome!

Yeah, I really thought this "bass comparison" thing would take off. But...no dice I guess.

Curious as to the equipment (interface) you are using? Tone sounds great - really full, almost sounds like a mic'd up cab.

It's just a focusrite 18i8. I'm plugged straight in. Nothing going on in my daw.

But, thanks man! I like it too. I switched from the front bridge coil, to parallel bucker on the second verse. If anyone noticed. It's a lot more mellow. Front coil's my favorite spot..

I really how these pickups work together though. They're pretty dope.

ok Jeezy, I un listed my old videos so I made a new one. This was fun to make and I rarely do side by side comparisons so here you go.
This is a 1979 Ibanez Musician Vs My kit bass I call Abass.
Both are Mahogany Bodies but the Ibanez has Ash top and bottom.

The Ibanez has its original super 4 pickup but someone at some point added what I believe to be a Dimarzio split coil. I have them both at full, tone up and the spit coil in parallel for this.

Abass has an SD SMB-4a Humbucker and a Fender original split coil. Both at full the SD is in Parallel for this.

there is video editing but the audio is clean other than my Big Muff and a crappy chorus and Im using an Ampeg
SCR DI for the pre amp and running into a UMC404HD interface.

I can't understand how on earth you get such a clean, consistent picking tone. You with a pick, sounds like me with my fingers
