The Heebie Jeebies won't become more bearable with time ...

She has refused a few times when someone brought in the opportunity to play somewhere and did not specify a legit reason, so we assumed she simply does not want to and got mad at her. She was beating around the bushes until we cornered her and she had to admit it's not because she is too lazy or does not care, it is because she's afraid.
I have to ask, why does she do it in the first place?

What's her reason for pushing herself to do something that gives her great anxiety, something that isn't even a necessary part of life?

One of my closest friends was a good singer and songwriter. We recruited her as the vocalist for a Motown-esque cover band and she completely choked during the second rehearsal and pretty much never sang outside of the shower after that. It’s a shame, but live performance is such a different aspect of music from composition. Not everybody can do it.
