I liked the Hobbit a lot...at least as much as Fellowship I think. The musical numbers in the beginning had me worried, but I thought Fellowship spent way too long dinking around in the Shire (and Return of the King spent too long ending the thing). Back to the Hobbit, I *really* liked the Gandalf/Saruman/Galadriel dynamic as a set up for LOTR. I also just like Bilbo more than Frodo, but I'm biased as The Hobbit is my favorite (having read them all including Simarillon). The orc battle was unnecessarily over the top, but I didn't mind the added bad guy for effect. I didn't think having it 3d added anything; if I'm lucky enough to see it in a theatre again, it'll be 2d. I'm glad it's going to be another trilogy...love this stuff.
