The "I need a portable amp, battery powered" thread again...

Hi everyone!

First, let me introduce myself. I'm from Spain, 27 seven years old and I've been playing for 14 years. I play every style but mostly funk and rock. I'm the proud ( :D ) owner of a Sadowsky Metro UV70, natural finish with black pickguard and maple neck with white blocks... I just love it! Don't have amp by the moment but it's almost shure that it will be an Eden WT800 with 6x10 Eden cab. Right now I'm going through a PA system, which has two old Lombardi boxes that sounds great!

Now, on the question...

I searched through the forum, and I saw similar posts but I think mine is a little bit different because...

1)... I'm not playing with a couple acoustic guitars; I'm playing with a full brass band (some kind of gypsy thing) with an electric guitar (played through a portable amp)

2)...we move while we play! The guitarist's amp has wheels and he has it attached to his back, so he can move.

Bassically, I get that there are three posibilities; pignoise, crate and the PJ Briefcase. The thing is a need power to make my low sound with the brass so I think Crate and pignoise are out. But wolud be posible to take a walk with the Briefcase?. Do you think
I would hear it well with the amp on my back?

And finally, would it be a chance buying the amp that I like most and moding it so it can work with battery? Is it difficult to do?

Thanks for your patience, mates; hope I can be helpful for the forum from now on!

Peace

A.

In that case you are buying a rather expensive switch mode power supply that you wont be using.
Why not just get a decent second hand 12 Volt ICE (In Car Audio AMP) and a Neo 2x12 of some sort bolt the amp to the back of the 2 X 12 and get a simple small battery powered pre like an old shadowski.
A bit of Light alloy frame and a couple of wheels some old car seat belts
and you are set.
