mmm me need BTB with maple fingerboard!!:bassist:

2 Ibanez current in the stable: A 405QM, currently stock, but about to get a little radical: SGD Lutherie J pups, installed to allow placement adjustment in the larger soapbar routes, + Mike Pope's FlexCore pre. (Don't you love hotel rooms that have musically-themed stock art!)

Also have a SR600 (action shot below). However, this one probably will go on the FS block soon, as I am totally in the 5-string camp now.

I won't ask for a number until I see whether the 405QM-SP (SGD-Pope) stays in house. I will post a link to my upgrade process thread when it all starts (oh...yeah...routing out a second battery bay. Joy!)

There are some beautiful basses on this thread. I started out on Ibanez, but recently picked up a 35"/19mm Lakland 55-02, and that extra scale length, body-through strings and wide spacing suit me nicely. The upgraded 405 may be a nice edgier alternative. We'll see...

Can anyone tell me if there are any changes or differences between the Ibanez SR500's made in 2010 and 2011?

I recently ordered one and got my new one today and it was manufactured in 2010.

So I'm curious to know if the 2011 model is different or imporved in any ways?

Thanks.

I just picked up a GWB2 fretted Willis sig. It's a great bass, super easy to play, light, and a great growly thing going on, even acoustically. I dig the ramp effect on touch although it's nearly impossible to get in and pop a note or 2. Fun bass!

I am not knocking it at all. I just always hear everybody saying that all there (Ibanez) basses under the SR400 series are not that good. I just ordered from Ibanez the 2AC1B20B bridge for it and EMG's now reside were the the stock pups used to be. I rest my finger on the P pickup when playing so I cant deal with the soapbar pups. Some black knobs and Gotoh tunners in black and it will be complete. I will post pics when its done.
