The Ibanez Club (Part 4)

Here's mine. I have owned about 10 basses over the years, 1 at a time until recently. My first Ibanez was a GSR200 red, older 3 knob model. Since that bass I've been a fan of Ibanez. Last December I acquired an SR400, loved it, but traded it away. Now I'm playing an SR885:

Hey guys, I am new to this forum :)

I just picked up an SR305 IPT to go along with my SR300. I have only been playing bass for like 1.5 yrs now but love it!

I know these aren't the highest end in the SR series but I really like them. I know this may be a stupid question, but the only difference between the two is the extra string right? Surprisingly the 5 sounds beefer that then 4.

This isn't the greatest pic but it's a start.

The difference is only the extra string. But that means it also has a wider bridge (to accomodate that string), a wider neck, wider pickups, and one more tuning machine.

Because of all of that, I'm not surprised there's a difference in the sound.

New member to the Ibanez club
Just got the SR405QM in charcoal brown burst
Really love the quilted maple top,
hard to get a good picture to do it justice
(of course, wiping off the smudges might help a bit)
Now I have to learn to play a 5-string!

That was my first bass. Super easy to play. The 5-string transition shouldn't prove difficult with that bass.

I eventually gave mine away to a friend because I was moving down to 4-strings and wasn't happy with the tone, either.

nice bass i jumped from 4 to 6 no problem there the intervals are the same and i played the gitard for 19 years so its not a bad transition.
