The Ibanez Club (Part 4)

Here is Iago, my first (and only, so far) bass: Ibanez SR1005EWN Prestige 5-string. Picked it up off of eBay over the weekend. I am going to be learning how to play on in this baby. I'm hoping the fifth string won't throw me off too much in terms of learning (I play guitar; this is my first foray into the world of bass). I plugged it into my Axe-FX last night and it sounded really sweet. Very comfortable too.

Wow! It's a beauty! I wonder how neck-through SRs sound.

You shouldn't run into too much trouble learning to play the 5-string, as long as you adjust your right-hand technique to prevent the B from vibrating when you're playing the other strings (example of good technique for that: YouTube - ‪Todd Johnson Bass Guitar : Floating thumb technique‬‏ ).

I started a new job last week after 14 months of unemployment, and my daughter's appendix burst this morning. I'll try to give out numbers this weekend, once things settle down a bit.

Hey guys I'm thinking about buying a sr505... Every time I've demoed one I loved the tone and playability. What kind of things can it NOT do/ what are it's weaknesses as an instrument (staying in tune, versatile tone, dependable electronics, etc) ???
