Has'nt arrived yet, but I won this SRX 400 on ebay recently. This will be my first ever Ibanez in 35 years! Something alluring (or lurid) about the unusual elecs, and of course the outrageously cool color.

hurrah, i can finally join the club! i'll be getting a K5 this weekend....yeh yeh i know...

right now, i'm just brainstorming for alternate meanings for what the hideous K5 fretboard splatter could mean (when people inevitably ask).
the best i could come up with is that it's a new species of dog, more efficient than the K9. :hiding:

I've played the SRX line, including the 400 at Guitar Center and was floored. The neck felt great, and the electronics were remarkably versatile.

I've got three:

RKB900 -- strung with La Bella DTB flats. This thing is a thump machine. I like everything about this bass, especially the neck and the pickups. It is solid, beautifully constructed and feels powerful in hand. Known as Blackie II, or lately Black Thunder.

SR400 -- strung with TI Jazz flats. My first bass; it is extremely playable but I've never been crazy about the tone . . . until I put the TI's on it. Now it purrs like a kitty. It is known as the Battleship after my buddy dropped it down three stairs onto a concrete floor and it escaped without the slightest nick on it (and only the E string was out of tune).

(The third is below due to two photo max.)

No pix but I have a translucent red GSR190. Had an SR406 that I got rid of to get a MIM Jazz, I kinda regret selling it. And last weekend I got an SRX505. Man the SRX rocks. I went to get a new cab and wound up with the new bass instead, on sale for $352. I don't know what it is but I keep going back to Ibanez. Good bang for the buck.

Ibanez issued important notice.
