Apparently not, my lefty ATK 300 is MIJ (bought in 1996) and the magazine reviews of ATKs around that time also stated they were MIJ. Looks like they started making them in Korea in 1997/late 1996.

interesting my lefty 300 atk was made in 96 and was made in korea...

Can any of my fellow Ibby lovers tell me if the SR900 series bodies are carved/arched top like the Prestige models, or are they flat, just like all the other lower-end SoundGear models?

"Recently Skjold'd" just sounds like you punished your bass.

I'll have to whip out the digital camera and post my collection. It's time to update anyway as the last family shots are truly horrible shots.

My second bass was an Ibanez GSR200. Still have it, still sounds good, even though I almost never play it now; I can't imagine ever getting rid of it.

The SR900s are arched. I know they aren't overly expensive but they aren't far off the prestige models in standard. My local guitar tech was saying the SR900 is one of the best neck-thru basses he has ever seen. He says the neck is perfect.

Just won an auction for a mid-70's Silver Series J-bass, can't wait to lay my hands on it.
I'm considering switching out the pickups and either defretting the neck or buy a fretless replacement neck.
