The "I'm a bonehead" thread.

Check this out -
Back in the early 1980s, my buddy and I got Motebecane (?) mopeds. We rode those things everywhere! One time, my buddy's mother hauls his moped all the way out to my folks house from the City (he had just moved there) in the back of her car. We spent the next 8 to 10 hours cruising the entire town. When we get back from our last road trip, his Mom was waiting to pick them up. I decided that I would try and lift my buddy's moped into the trunk of his Mom's car by myself. I bent over and grabbed the exhaust pipe (at the cylinder port) with both hands. It was white-hot. I can still remember the smell of cooking human flesh as the skin on the palms of my hands fused to the metal. That really, really hurt. But, it gave me great calluses in the long run!

1 more:

Today, I had an exam of Linear Algebra. I got up a bit later. I thought "weekdays I can get to the uni in 25-30 minutes if the traffic is bad; however, the weather was bad on the weekend, so not so many should be on the road coming back. So, 35 mins should be enough..."
Of course, the buses didnt wanna come...
the traffic was awful - got struck in a big traffic jam, we were going at about walkpace...
Even the tram didnt wanna come and was slow...
They closed the doors by the time I got there....
:rollno:

Well, luckily, this wasnt as bad as it could be, as my quarter-year LinAl exam was bad, and I woudl've had to write 10/10 just to get a 4; however, if I go and write it again, 7/10 would be enough for a 4, and 9/10 is a 5 :p

Running around the hotel room on vacation trying to find my hat, except it was on my head. Since I wore my hat so much back then I couldn't tell if it was on or not.

My friends sisters graduation party. My friends hated the music and told me to tell the guy he sucks. A split second before I said it it got almost dead quiet. They all thought it was my friend who said it and I let him take the blame because I was so **** embarrased :(. I bailed about 5 minutes later.

I think i just übered myself today... :(

I've had an exam of Microeconomics, which was in the form of a test. I somehow lost my sense of time, so I realized too late that I havent copied my answers to the right place on the front page. They told me hte time is up; then they looked at me and told me to put my pen down - and I said "Please, I'm only copyin my answers to the first page!" They took my test and gave me a 1...
It should've had been a 3 or a 4...

the next time I went to write the test again was the last occassion you could take that test. I've learned a lot for it, to show those bastards, but they made it so hard and difficult (even by using stuff they didnt teach us  ) that I got a 2... IF i hit one more of the harder questions, I would've got a 3...
:( :( :(

Since this was about to ruin my average, and I couldnt rewrite this, I decided to go and rewrite another test, Linear Algebra, from which i got a 3; if I've been more attentive, I would've noticed some of the mistakes I've made in my calculations and i would've got a 4...
So now I go and this exam was so f***ing hard, that I flunked... :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:
It was so hard that I bet even math teacher couldn't have made it to 100%... I bet the flunk-rate will be around 90% for this test, the rest had lucky guesses... :(
I still cant believe it... :bawl: :bawl:

Can I nominate my boss. She went and bought one of those whiz-bang digital photo copiers that also doubles as a fax machine. The only trick is that before you send a fax, you have to hit the big green iluminated button that is clearly marked "FAX", then punch the fax number into the keypad, then hit GO. Easy.

She keeps forgeting to hit the "Fax" button but dials the fax number anyway. So instead of sending a fax, she actually telling the machine to make 9456,1234 copies. She's done it every time without fail :)

A few years back, I was trying to clean the grill on our propane BBQ. There was a bunch of gunk on it, so I decided to pour lighter fluid on the grill so it would heat it up before I brushed it. Next, I shut the lid, turn the propane on, and start pumping the ignite button. Nothing happens, so walk into the house to grab some matches. Come back, decide to try the ignite button one more time, and BOOM! ...stupid me, I'd forgotten to turn the propane off. Stupid me, the lighter fluid only made it a bigger explosion. ANYways, totally blew the lid off the BBQ, and I jumped about 5 feet back - but not quick enough to keep my arm hair from being completely scorched off, as well as parts of my eyebrows. Luckily, I had glasses and a hat on, and was saved further damage. A bit of a rash was it luckily.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

I got a classic this morning.

The plan: Wake up, walk to bathroom, use toilet, shower.

The truth: Wake up, walk to bathroom, pee in laundry hamper, drop boxers in toilet AND FLUSH IT, take shower. Get out of shower, notice the floor is covered in water (from the toilet), grab additional towel to mop it up with, then drop THAT in the toilet, and do what? That's right, I flushed it again. Fortunately, I realized what I was doing at this point and got started on a proper cleaning.

Total Bonehead-dom this morning. Tuesday, the 7th.

I woke up at 9, I had class in 2 hours, I lay in bed for about an hour(I often do this, wake up way before class just so I can lay in bed till class)Save for getting up and looking at my schedule, 11-12 and 12-1 are my two classes on this fine Monday Morning.

Got up about 20 minutes before class started, and did my waking up.

I have a little bit of time to kill so I check my email, as I'm doing this, I notice my computer clock "Tue: 10:45 AM"

It hits me.

I run over to my schedule. 9-10 AM and 3-3:30 PM are my classes on Tuesday!

augh!

well, at least it was the first week, these things usually slide until the 2nd week. But damn, I feel like such a bonehead.
