I thought the tone was there for the B-15 more than the Amplitube you were using. The SVT I wasn't quite buying, though. Sounds like they (or you) have a fondness for the ultra-hi switch, whereas I always set mine closest to the B-15 sound you got. That's my SVT sound...the B-15 ;)

Thanks Jimmy,
I'm of course guilty.. I'm fond of the Ultra Hi switch. It is there.... Can't resist using it! :) but I did lower the gain for this clips, and EVEN used my fingers.
Well, knowing that the Jamup B15 sound like a B15 is nice confirmation. Here on TalkBass you are our Ampeg man, and your opinion on the Ampeg tone count most. Brian from IK might not like it, but everybody here on TalkBass knows who is JimmyM and where his heart placenta, ;)

But the SVT Blue Line do sound like an SVT? I seldom try the SVT to sound like a B15, I like the B15 and the SVT both in their own way. I usually tend to set each up do sound like.... ME :)

That's what you should always do no matter what amp or sim you use. And yes, it did sound a lot like an old SVT with the ultra-hi on.

I'm not going to poop on Amplitube, though I must admit not caring for the B-15R sim. My favorite in that package was actually the 4 Pro. The CL does a good job as well. And a buddy of mine has the Hendrix package and the sounds he gets with a Strat are quite Hendrixy, too. But the B-15R sim just did nothing for me. The Jamup is more like what I hear from my B-15.

Btw, Jimmy, as are virtual guest, you for sure have played through a SWR Redhead? What do you thing of the Redhead (the real one)? The one on Jamup have the sweetest mids I've ever heard. Never seen one in life, but Adam played through a Redhead, and he say the Redhead on Jamup awakes some fond memories of the real Redhead.

And when it does to that here is my ranking of the Jamup basses so far. My ranking is totally based on the tonei manage to get out of the to serve ME. I think each of the bass amps have its own beautiful character and uniqueness. So here is what my ears like best with my Rickenbacker 4003:
1) SVT Blue Line
2) SWR Redhead
3) Marshall JCM800 or the Plexiglass. Sorry.... I like guitar amps for my Ric. .... :)
4) B15
5) Hiwat 103
6) GK RB 800

My Geddy:
1) GK RB 800
2) B15
3) SVT Blue Line

My Squier CV60 P bass
1) SVT Blue Line
2) GK RB 800 or the B15 with the EQ stomp in front.

This is my list without using the Rat or the BDDI in front of the amps.

Thanks Jimmy for always tell things as they are. We really appreciate your visits here on this thread.

Very good to know, thanks Duke!!

Just saw a post on Positive Grid's Facebook page. They posted a screenshot of the next update. Get this: 3 stomp slots!!!

One thing I really wish they would fix is the tuner. We've all overlooked that because of our excitement, but the tuner in Jamup just isn't accurate.

I use TC Polytune usually, and it's no big deal to switch to it to tune because its super accurate. But if I tune in Jamup then check it against the Polytune, it's WAY off. Again, I don't care, but some might.

For Bass Pak 2.0 I would like to see:

1) JamUp Carbon Copy, complete with the modulation button

2) JamUp Multi Drive, with 3 parallel OD, Distortion, Fuzz and all the hi/lo pass filters, etc...

3) JamUp Opti-Fet complete with sidechain eQ specific for bass

outside of bass pak 2.0:

4 or 8 track recording as an extra cost plug in. (I'd rather not mess around with audiobus).

Thanks for listening Positive Grid !!!

If you like the Polytune, you'll freak when you try the Peterson app...

I wander if they adjusted the JCM800, can't recall I've seen this high/ low switch before!
