I like it, right up my alley as a recent convert to 32" scale. I virtually never play over a neck pickup anyway, so I like the bridge biased pickup. Nice job!

Yes, that is true unfortunately. The plan was the same ratio as the original Ray’s but it didn’t quite work with the control plate, and I decided that a little bit of difference was going to be just fine by me, but I definitely originally wanted to put it in the original ‘sweet spot’

Playing around with photos with a distinct lack of scientific rigor, I concluded that the screw on the RH side of the pickup would have been wanting to land bang on the point of the control plate.

here's my Jag Ray with pickups in the Rickenbacker positions, 34" scale and a 4 band Audere preamp, and plenty of maple Quilt.

I kept the pickup on my Jag H in its stock position so I could play the bass as a substitute for a P-bass with La Bella flats, since my hands don't like 34-inch scale anymore. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised at the tone of the pickup, especially after I put vintage-style wiring on it, 250 kohm audio pots & .047 tone cap, and I can see how the pickup would be amenable to feeding an on-board preamp. Good, clean, mod.

The bass is active, and with an adequate bass boost it probably hangs with the ballsiest of them. In fact, with the above in mind (corrective EQ in order, but the tool to achieve it right at hand), the closer to the bridge the richer in harmonic content the picked-up tone is.
