I’ll post clips when I can, I’m travelling right now. It does sound good, but I agree that without the active circuit the position could be challenging. Is definitely not say failed! And I’m not too sure how much just under an inch or so of difference really makes. Otherwise, Westone’s “The Rail” would be the ultimate tone machine.

Awesome,Awesome,Awesome !!! I really like the looks of your bass. I have changed a lot of my bass guitars, and placed pickups where they fit the best. I see nothing wrong with that ! All my modded bass guitars have a unique tone, and that was part of what I was going for. Besides the look of the bass. If you want a standard P, Jazz, Ray or whatever tone, then go buy one of those bass guitars and be happy. Keep up the good work !!!!

When I first found out about the Squier Affinity models with that finish, I was hit with some serious GAS-pains. Funny thing, though, my thoughts immediately ran towards modding one of those Jazzes into a J/MM configuration powered by an Audere preamp. I'd say "great minds..." and all that, but I don't think I'd qualify. :wacky:

I was about to do a very similar thing! I’m wondering the dimensions on the stock humbucker vs. the Aguilar you installed? Can the Aguilar fit into the stock pickup cavity? If not, is the Aguilar bigger so that the jag body could be routed out for it? Also, what model pick up did you install? I’m looking to do it with an AG 4M. Medium scale is the best!
