Last week I found the 1985 BT bass pictured on the left. Incredibly the serial number was the next in sequence to the 1985 BT bass on the right. According to inspection stickers, # 85243 was completed in October and # 85244 was completed in December. One has active controls and the other has passive. Perhaps these 2 were together at one time and now after 37 years they are united again?

The abbreviations are really confusing... BT stood for the old 2 band Preamp; Bass & Treble.

I always wanted a Brubaker. They were in my town until their building burnt down and they moved. Then I tried a used one and didn’t like what I heard. Possibly owner damage or something. Then they joined forces with Smith…

I love single cut designs, and I think Brubaker & Elrick have the most elegant ones. I’ve wanted a single cut Brubaker as well. And yes, he does some of the most amazing coloured finishes, he and Dingwall are the industry leaders I feel.
