Hey I am loving my 2 string fretless (the "FretLesPaul"). Light, compact, with 2-octave-neck, big sound... and the initial challenge of making due with 2 strings is quickly diminishing.. finding all my notes up and down the neck.. and can basically play it with my eyes shut, now!! Also - I've been running through an EHX Big Muff - sounds ripping!!!
As I have said before... for every hot dog who's gotta have a 5 or 6 string bass.. there should be a 2 string rebel, like us!!

Damn?? What do you mean by that, man? If you want one - get one!! What could be simpler, or cheaper? All you need is $100 or $200 ... and an imagination! Hey...my NEW krappy bass, now under construction, is a half-fretted/half-fretless Bo Diddley shaped model. Always wanted a f-in' square axe - now I'm gonna have one!

Actually - did you see my photo under "Owners" ? With two Krappy's hanging around my neck? Now imagine ANOTHER Krappy bass added to the mix, hanging down
by my knees... hell, I am going to OWN ridiculous!!!!

Speaking of photos, does anyone have any of themselves playing their Krappy in front of a crowd? I see that none of the owners' gallery photos seem to be taken on a stage. I'd take one but these days all of my gigs are on DB or EUB...
i have a new soundfile of my 12 stringer but it's 4 mb, this site only allows an mp3 of 2 mbs or smaller... so if you guys wanna hear it, email me at tenorsf(at)yahoodotcom and i'll send it along... i sent it to kevin, maybe he'll put it on his site under the audio clips sometime soon if he's so moved... it's pretty rad, has a few bloopers but it's an arrangement of a classical tune, rodrigo's concierto de aranjuez mvt. 1... anyway blessings 2 us all! cheers, sftapper
I expect to play my 2-string bass in public for the first time tonight. Weekly Thursday night country/blues jam session at the Garden Grill in Albany, NY. I usually just bring the banjo and washboard. I am bringing bass tonight, too. One of the co-hosts holds forth with his bass fiddle most of the night. But when he takes a break, I'll be ready to jump in. I could bring a camera and ask barmaid to snap a few pic's of me.. but I don't know...that seems a little self-important.
Just say that your friend bet you that you're not brave enough to be seen with the Krappy in public, but he couldn't make it tonight. Cheesy, but believable.
