The Kustom Club

Made by Kustom. Here is my Ka$ino Snake eyes 200W amp and matching 2x15 cab. A true survivor!

Just found this thread. Here's my Ka$ino Model 252. Bought new 6/5/1970 for $396.76. Still have it; still kicks serious @$$. It's now my practice amp 'cos I can't lift it into the gigmobile any more.

Also had one of these(K150)in great condition but even it got to be too dang heavy(stock pic):

Just picked this baby up from an auction.
Needs a good cleaning but seems to be working well other than a couple of scratchy pots. The cab is loaded with JBL D140’s

Congratulations!

That should produce quite a glorious power thump when you flip the power switch! Playing through it should sound even better!

I once bought a Woodson head (Woodson being a DNA cousin of Kustom) from a guy who had a room lined with tuck and roll Kustom gear. He had at least one 3x15 along with a similar sized 2x15 + giant round horn cabinet. Quite a sight!

I hope you post photos of it after cleaning and report on how great it sounds!

What can you tell me about this Kustom 100? I believe it is a Model k-100. Asking price is $450. I'm just interested as a nostalgia thing, it will just be in my studio.
Thanks

Well it's a 50 watt amp (the number in the model number is the peak power). It'll probably sound incredible, especially when you wick it up to where the pilot light starts throbbing with the beat!

Check this site out for info... Welcome to VintageKustom.Com!

All I can tell you is that it looks sweeeet,

and would look (and likely sound) great in your studio. :bassist:

According to the link, it has 2x12's and is a guitar amp.
I had one of these(K-150 bass combo-stock pic, mine was in better shape). Great sound; weighed almost as much as my(then)gigmobile.

that one's in very nice condition. i think the earlier T&R Kustoms sound great.
i've owned several K200's with the 215 JBL cabs and i wish that i never sold them.

OK. I bought this new in June of '70. Still have it(~15' to my left). Still kicks serious @$$. It's my 'practice' amp-'cos I can't lift the damn thing into my current 'gigmobile'.

Good Morning, Talkbass Kustomerz,

This is my first time down this aisle, so greetings to you! I'm looking forward to back reading through Kustom pics and stories. I don't currently own a Kustom bass amp, and probably won't anytime soon (but y'never know).

I do have imaginary Kustom rigs and a couple of pinchable charcoal sparkle 4x8 Kolumns in constant use as part of my office/music room AV system. They are powered by a small stereo Yorkville powered mixer. Charcoal sparkle is my favorite Kustom Kolor because it shows off the tuck and roll and goes with anything.

Kustom represents to me a couple of things: Hot Rods from a time when American Cars were recognizably the tops of the heaps, and the mid century modern suburban garages that so many aspiring bands called home. My Kustoms smelled of poured concrete for months after they arrived, undoubtedly from sitting unused for years in a somewhat humid Missouri garage.

Viva la Kustom!

Congratulations!

That wasn’t a horn. It was an accessory for in between sets when you needed to make an Angel Food Cake. :)
