Also, I'm kind of still a lone wolf even though I'm in a band. We mostly practice on our own and we email original tracks back and forth. I haven't rehearsed with them since mid January and I have a gig Saturday with no rehearsals between now and then :eek:

The vast majority of the time I'm playing the only person who can hear it is me... because I play with headphones on for the way I feel when I play. I don't playbecause of what others think or want to hear.

What drives you to select new songs to learn and practice as a Lone Wolf? Where do you source your music from? Sheet music? Download music? Just curious how others determine what songs to learn and how they choose them.

I like to learn songs that I am familiar with. Classic rock mostly. Some ambient instrumentals that I have heard. I listen and then start playing along with the root notes and then improvising from there...

Songs I like and sound fun to play. Then I source youtube, songster or a google search for tab. Lately I've been learning songs I know the words to already so I can practice playing and singing.

+1 I'm still going through the entire Beatles catalog so I can play every single song on the spot then I will move on to Wings but man I just started playing whipping post by the Allman Brothers after hearing it in a movie man what a song if someone asks you "what does Rock and Roll sound like?" that's it to me what a great song.

I've decided to get a second bass! All I have to wait for is a Squier Bronco to come up used for the right price. This is going to be my beat up/modded bass; I'm going to put better pick ups in it and paint it.

What color should I paint it? It has a maple neck and white pick guard so I'm thinking a darker color. I don't want black or red, but I don't want it to look too girly if I ever donate it to a kid or something...pardon the ramble.

I think maybe a shade or two darker than the lake Placid blue?
