The Mandalorian - TV series

I'm digging that the latest episode continues on with the main story. The stand alone episodes are cool, but I don't know if they would keep me tuned in every week.
I watched the first four episodes. It's not bad. Not bad at all. It's easily the best thing I've ever seen out of the Star Wars universe.
I'm grateful the series exists... and enjoy seeing Favreau dig stuff out of the old-school Star Wars universe.
But wowzers, folks... some/most of the acting from the minor characters is downright horrendous. That makes this series a tough watch.
When I saw Gina Carano show up, I cringed. C'mon... didn't Hollywood learn its lesson when she boat-anchored Haywire?
But hey -- bad acting doesn't seem to phase most Star Wars fans. The past 7 or 8 films have been chock-full of it and hardly anyone seems to say anything about it.

I love this show, love it.
I especially like the calm and unassuming way Mando carries himself. A man of few words, I like that too.
The Cara Dune character doesn't bother me all that much, but I'm having a hard time letting go of Apollo Creed memories.
I was sad when IG-11 marched to it's death.

Yup. I hate Star Wars. Relative to everything else, this is the best Star Wars product I've seen. I don't think it's great. I just think it's not bad. It's not clever or original or particularly interesting, just not bad."Easily the best in the Star Wars universe???"

They must be doing something right. Jon Favreau announced Friday that season two is a go and will hit in 2020. When Star Wars hit in ‘77 i was just 5 but managed to see it 3 times in theatres. I also enjoyed the next 2 movies but not much else, and not for trying. I just can’t get into the newer films. This series though, I really enjoy. It has some of the quality of the 77 release (bar scene/warrior aliens) and also some of the camp I enjoyed from the first Star Trek series, with cameos. I would rather hear some different style music in there as well though. I could picture Tool music in an episode. Maybe have music cameos as well, with different bands writing for entire episodes. Who’d be good here...so far I nominate the above band, and Mastedon.
I like the series but I can't get over how badly acted the epidsode with Bill Burr was, and it's not just him.
That episode was awful. The episode with the blue shrimp farmers and the one with the rookie bounty hunter in the desert were real stinkeroos too. I like the little Nick Nolte guy. "I have spoken." He's great.
It's good. In another Star Wars thread someone mentioned the reason people don't like the newer movies was because they were kids when the old ones came out and the movies aren't aimed at adults. I was wondering if it was true.
This series brings back the old feel. I'm 53, saw all the movies up to Solo in the theater on first release. The original three were good. The prequels do suck. The new ones do suck. This is good. It's good storytelling. My 18 year old son agrees, but says the new movie is good, too, so I might go see it.

Anyone besides me think Mando's voice tone, timbre and cadence sounds very much like Clint Eastwood's portrayal of Josey Wales ?
The scene where they showed his face was dumb. It didn't add anything and only took away from the character's mystique. What was the point? He had a head injury that needed attention but what was the point of the head injury? So that we could see his face. It was a badly written scene and plot choice.
