Can't go wrong with the Bergantino stuff, Ron. I have tried over a dozen cabinets in the last year and I keep coming back to Bergantino. I sold them all after I got the AE212. It sounds like your tonal goals are a bit more classic/tubey sounding, and I'm sure the NV610 would kill through the DB750!

How do you like the RH450?

Whappo Jr. does not equal rock cab IMO. Owned one and if I had a cab to noodle with just in the basement it would be great. It is polite up top and relaxed in the mids and sounds perfect solo, but gets lost in the mix (again IMHO). The berg mids don't get lost in the mix the cut right through.

Totally can't go wrong with the Bergies. I LOVE mine. I have the first gen. with the silver grills.

I have to say I also completely dig my RH450. For my line of work (broadway tours and pit work) it is perfect. The three presets are amazing for style and bass changing. The comp is very handy and musical, and the tube tone is wonderful at slight levels. The tuner isn't my Peterson, but is accurate and also handy. LOVE the foot controller. Front of house guys have complimented on the DI and the overall sound.

It's true the basic sound rolls of the highs a bit, but it's easy to put them back. It has some heft in the low mids for sure. I'm not a sizzle guy anyway though and feel the fingerstyle tone is spot on. It's strong sounding to me with good note definition. It has become an extremely valuable piece in the arsenal. All at 9 lbs.

Ron, DB750's are amazing heads for sure. Anyone who says different is an idiot, but the RH450 is where it's at for me.

I bought the RH450 before the Genz Streamliner series came out. The GB stuff impresses me for tone out of such a little package. I came "this" close to buying one, but decided that it was worth it to me to pay the extra $$$ and schlep the DB750. It simply has that "weight" around the notes that I like.

I'll probably get a Genz Streamliner to have as a second amp if I can ever unload my AER rig and RH450 setup.

Whappo Jr's remind me of the new Genz-Benz GB 1288T-UQ cabinet. Any thought on one of these?

I talked to Mike today and my bass is still 2-3 weeks out. He's waiting for the body to get back. He said he's digging the design of the new pick guard for a M5 and has made a template of it to be an option for M5's. The first M5V24 is about to be born!!! If patience is a virtue... I'm a scandalous whore!!!

Total FWIW here, but I didn't care for it. Didn't seem to have a lot in the way of booty, the mids were muddy and just....meh (that'd be the technical term)...and the highs were thin and tinny.

Well, I happen to now own 2 cabs that are "doin it" just fine by me.
A Berg HS210 for small gigs, the Genz-Benz uberquad (pictured above) for medium gigs, and the two combined for bigger gigs. Still waiting for call from U2 that AC has called it quits and they desperately need me to replace him before I need anything bigger than that package can deliver.

Yup. And they are a VERY awkward size to lift on your own, even though they are light for the number of speakers in them. I was expecting a lot more than I got.

Hey guys, a quick follow-up to my cabinet issue. I scored a berg NV610 Sunday thanks to a fellow TBer. So now I'm set with my V5, PJ5, T5 and DB750/NV610.

I'll probably keep my AER rig since it's a bit cleaner and more modern sounding than the Aggie. Plus, no one's been rushing to take it off my hands. The good part about all of my recent dealing is that I can also keep my TC Electronic Combo 450. The TC stuff isn't as good sonically as the Aggie and AER, but it's good enough in its own right and quite portable.

I too am now putting down my longtime favorite ash maple 55/94 with lakland electronics in favor of my new MV5 with the duncan pickups and the bart preamp. Wow, I thought I was happy with my old tone until now....... when I play the Lakland my drummer says it sounds like there is a blanket over my speaker cabinet. I am still more comfortable with the Lakland neck and feel, but find myself going for the new Lull because I love the sound!
