Paul just email this picture of my bass!! It's ready and I'm excited!! The lighting may have changed the color of the finish so I'll take more pics when I get shipped the bass. It's supposed to be gold metallic.

Very sweet... finish looks almost like shoreline in that light. Good call on the 34" scale too. The 35" scale was the only thing I didn't like about my old V5 & P5.

Man I'm so glad to hear you say that about the scale size. My PJ5 is great but I've wondered whether the 35" scale has made the D and G strings too tight sounding and not as fat. If the JJ 34" comes out as I hope I might find a way of financing a 34" PJ as I love those Lull fingerboards!!

I'm interested in the "tone" of Lull's and would like to make sure that my upcoming order won't sound too similar to my Sadowsky Metro. I'm looking at Lull's jazz-style basses, if that helps.

Strost, I was watching it on Ebay and even made a trip to the store just to make sure I loved it as much as I thought. My wife heard me overseeing about it a lot. Ha!

I'm a Lull guy for 10+ years, and I've owned seven of them, but I just placed my first custom order today with the good folks at Bass San Diego.

- Ash M4V with Maple
- P+J Bart with Bart preamp
- Surf Green w/ parchment guard!

I changed my mind.

I'm going to try Nodry P+J in this one.

wow, love that neck and the P pup config. I'll bet that bass is sweet. I use a fretless '78 Fender P for some gigs and that looks like a modern version.

I should add that I don't own a Lull yet but - next on my list.

I put Nordstrand pups in my Lull PJ. It came with Sey Duns but I found some barely used Nords and threw them in. What I found was interesting. The Nords have a more aggressive, throatier sound than the Sey Duns and therefore have made the bass more fun to play live and oddly sound more P bass-like. The Sey Duns, however, and IMHO, sound better for recording because they seem a bit more compressed.

I am interested in either a Lull PJ5 or a Lull P5 and would be interested to hear comments on the comparison. A PJ5 may be more electronics than I need, but I like the idea of having that bridge pickup available for a more modern sound.
