I'm playing a Lakland 35" scale passive P5 and think it would be an upgrade to get a Mike Lull. I'm interested in the 35" scale Lull PJ5 but I won't have the chance to play one before deciding. So I have a question for anyone who's played both the Lull P5 and the PJ5 - are you happy with the PJ pickup configuration? Can you get the P bass sounds and add to that with the J sound, or does the hybrid create another animal that's different in its own right? I'd like to be sure I can still get the P sound if I want it, and just supplement it with the bridge pickup when needed.

That would actually be an M5V (Sadowsky is MV5... I know, it's confusing). That's actually what mine is as well... a 34" M5V JJ. But if you're going PJ, it's not a JJ.Mike's making me a 34" JJ MV5. I'm excited!! One thing that I wanted to add regarding the P and J pickups. I and a few friends have concluded that a Volume, Volume tone set up on the Lulls sounds better than a Blend knob. Get more opinions, but if you have one made, make sure that that's a option you pick.
