Can't really tell from the lack of lighting at the back of the stage (this was a really wierd stage setup, I am actually standing on the stage steps and facing the band so I don't fall off) but I am playing my Lull P4. This is my Tom Petty tribute band playing one of Tom's biggest hits (from last Saturday Night in Seal Beach, CA).
This one has gone through a few homes, and it recently found its way to me.

Anyone know what the current build time is for a custom order? I'm planning on calling on Monday, just figured it might save me a call.
I ordered a V4 two weeks ago through Greg at Rocket music and he told me it would take around 12 weeks to get it done.
That is a beautiful bass! Very nice grain on what looks like an alder body.
I played a Lull P4 last year in GC and, wow, that was sweet! Since then, I've been wondering
PJ or P? If I get a Lull PJ, does it sound the same as a straight-up P with the J pickup turned all the way down?
I compared a P5 against my PJ5 with the J turned off and they sounded exactly the same. I don't bother with the J. The P part sounds so great, I don't need anything else.

Well, I'm worried that I went out on a limb here!! Not really worried, cause Mike's stuff is great, but a little nervous about my choices. I'm about a month out from getting my custom Lull MV5. Based on a handful of basses with similar specs, from different builders that I've played and heard, I decided to go with this combo.

Every alder bodied jazz with maple board I've played or heard, I've enjoyed! I either have or have had the usual ash/maple or alder/rosewood combos. This alder/maple seems like a nice compromise.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Anybody out there with a similar spec'd bass feel free to give me your feedback and what you've found.

I can sleep a wee bit better tonight. I'll definitely post pics and a small review when I get it. I really don't see a lot of Gold Metallic paint job Lulls out there. It's surprising to me because Mike's bass came out looking awesome! I'd think more people would jump on that color because it's a bit more mustard and not so disco as some other gold flake jobs I've seen by other makers.I have a beautiful PJ 5 in Three Tone Sunburst. Second one Mike has made for me. I'm super excited about the jazz.
