I called the shop and spoke to Spencer today. He has Mike's outgoing personality and a good mind for the business. He is dedicated to maintaining Mike's excellent reputation. As others have said, I believe the legacy is in good hands.
My first new Lull of 2020! I ordered this from Mike late last year and the gang at the shop finished it yesterday. It feels and sounds exactly like I wanted it to, the magic is still there in the folks at the shop.
Oh, man, I want that one! That would be the fretless twin to my main fretted player.

My new P5 has stolen the top spot in my stable ... thinking about rehoming my M5v PJ and taking on a passive 4 string J, PJ or P with J neck profile. Must be light. Lull preferred, late 80's through mid 90's MIJ Fenders plus cash would work as well. Whatever it is, it needs to be light, a sweet player and troubles free.
An active J with a top mount plate. Not through body controls could also work. Easy enough to to revert to a 3 or 4 hole plate...
The M5V is around 8 lbs, maybe a tad under. It's a crazy good player. I am simply out of love with active electronics on solid body basses. I'm OK with active on my piezo basses. It's almost necessary there...
I had been thinking about just taking the M5V passive but it kinda seems like sacrilege ...
I'll have pix shortly... Thought I'd post here prior to the GFS.

I must be a luddite. There is just something perfect about a simple PBass, wood, tort and of course flats... I have trouble putting this one down.
Just added this to the two in my sig
just did a rehearsal on my driveway. first time we've been together since February. Rustee! A lot of our close 3 part harmonies weren't real close. We're going to be doing a bunch more of this. Played the new Lull P5 for most of it. Awesome as expected. Used my Marco N1 P for most of the tunes where I sing lead and a couple where the line is complicated and my background part is as well. Blondie Tide Is High... yeah easier to play and sing on a 4 string for me.

Somehow I didn't even think of that! Alder body, P width neck, unlined ebony board, Hipshot B bridge instead of the more usual A, LaBella white nylon tapewounds, weighs 7.5 lbs.
7.5 pounds. Nice! That's light even for Mike. My short scale is 7lbs 10oz
Here's my second new Lull of 2020! Alder body, Candy Apple Red metallic, ebony fingerboard, stock custom Lull Fralin single coils, weighs 7.9 lbs. Amazing full sound and it plays great, I really love the feel and balance of the V4 body shape!
Stunning! I have Jazz GAS these days, and that bass isn't helping
