Ok, so here we go.

This baby is amazing. In passive mode it is super agressive, yet can get that typical Fender passive tone on both P and J pickups. As for the overall tonal qualities of this bass, it is incredible. The goal with this instrument was to get the most versitile bass I could get. So that ended up being the P with the J in the 70's position.

First Vic and I checked out the bass in active mode with eq flat. The P pickup soloed is incredible. Very beefy but not muddy. J pickup soloed is amazing! Typical 70's tone that just screamed agressiveness! Messing with the EQ, I will probably never use the treble boost that much, the bass is so agressive, but the bass control is awesome. Guys, Lull is a master.

BTW, can't remember if B.C. said so, but I think this is either the first, or one of the first, basses Mike has Plek'd with his new machine, and the fret level is friggin' PERFECT on it. Wow.

Ironically, Mike is among the best of the best at fret work anyway, so I don't think it was all about improving quality... probably just saving time. :)

Thanks guys! I love this thing! As Vic said, this is one of the first plek'd ones. Can get the action super low plus Mike's perfect fret work makes for an amzing neck.

I figured I might be hearing from you once you had a chance to play that bass! :D Mike really does great work, and his new PLEK maching will only improve on his otherwise incredibly high standards for fret leveling, dressing, action, and intonation. ;)

As for my buddy Brandon, I'm glad to hear that his expectations were not only met, but exceeded. That's the goal I shoot for every time. The fact that I could hook a fellow Illini up was even nicer. :)

I want to nominate B.C. for one of the coolest guys on the planet. He's agreed to let me play his brand new baby in church ensemble Sunday morning. This means I'll be the first to actually gig the bass. Admittedly, not as big of a deal as he'll be doing later that same day, but still.

Lol actually exactly what Vic said about the Pickguard.

I do like the black on black with maple, but I like a wood finish more. I was extactic to see the trans black and one can see the wood. I guess I was going for a very classy look, ya know could wear it in jeans or a tux and still look good.

Well I always look good, but ya know.:hiding::D

I know i am rather late in responding to this.. but Vic that is hilarious!!! I would die laughing if i saw you with a fro :D And to bad you didn't do.. cuz that would an awsome story to tell your family when you got home and you had a fro... ;)
