Well, of course I wouldn't even dream of having anything to do with such a good friend losing a crown jewel like that, BUT, I will say this... right after church I had to go home and pick up a couple of my current faves to kill the nasty case of GAS it gave me. LOL!LOL well then i guess that is a good thing that ya'll were in church so b.c. didn't have to fight one of his best friendsLOL even though i am not a fan of violence... i think that would be kind of funny to see you two fight over Carolyn..

Well guys, my gig report. I'm sure Vic can tell you about his experience.
First, it is a hard mix to cut through. I play in a Praise and Worship group named Day 40 which will, at times, have three guitarists playing. So that is a wal of sound I gotta cut through.
Having the P pickup solo'd, I love the tone, but it did not sustain enough for my taste, but maybe that is in my setup. I got the typical P thud, which is fantastic, but maybe not always my sound.
Blended was amazing. I favour the J pickup a little bit so I have that agressive edge, but the P really fills out the tone.
The J pickup solo'd: Man, the 70's position was the way to go. So amazingly agressive and flat out funky. Do lose a bit of low end, but man, that thing is awesome.
That being said, there is no bad sound in this bass. You could honestly plug it in and just forget about the electronics, you are getting a great sound.
Mike is amazing!

I take it things went well. Hey Guys, to those who has emailed Mike and crew, how long does it normally take to get a reply?
I emailed them almost 2 weeks ago asking for some info on the used M5V I just bought since my seller didn't really have too many specifics - I am mainly interested in finding out the year, p/u & pre (I assume it's SD/Bart)... No replies as of yet... Do you guys know if they would have that info? Should I call instead?
Anyone know what type of finish Mike uses - nitro or poly or other?
Thanks!
Awesome bass! I wish he made 5 strings in 34" scale...I just can't do a 35"!!
I have heard that before...I really need to try one but they are not easily found in any of the "go-to" stores...
Honestly that is unusual, I got a reply the next day. Maybe it feel through the cracks, I would say try again.
Will do Bro! But even if (which they're not) Mike was known to have bad customer service, I would still play his instruments... I'm really lovin' mine.
Gotta get the photobucket account going so I can post some nice pics.
I usually try email a couple times, and then if no response, I pick up the phone. Remember, these tiny shops are swamped all the time... don't be afraid of using the phone.Hey Guys, to those who has emailed Mike and crew, how long does it normally take to get a reply?

How much are the V4's and M4V's street price?
Depends. Used or new? Either way, for what you get out of this bass, he's got the best deal around. You are probably looking at 1900-2000 for a new one.
