I'd suggest you FIRST listen to the Sadowsky with the pickups and see what you think before you swap more stuff.

+1. Basso, I would do this as well. I'm thinking the Basslines/Sadowsky preamp will be a very good combo.

Get the aggie, IMHO and IME. I have the Duncan p'ups with aggie pre and could not be happier. That is an amazing combo.

I agree. My M5V originally had Duncan pickups and an Aggie OBP-3 pre. Awesome combo IMHO.

I really like the OBP-3; it also works very well with my Bart pickups. I like the Bart/OBP-3 combo so much that I'm having a custom 6-string built with a Bart/OBP-3 setup. :hyper:

I just wanna thanks for nothing guys... All this talk about swapping this and swapping that is giving all sorts of crazy ideas... But I have to keep telling myself that the bass is fine the way it is right now, at least for now. But I am dying to hear the Aggie pre.

I sat down the other day and tried to calculate how much all the upgrades I would want would cost and it wasn't pretty.

I was looking into: Plek, Drop Tuner for the low B, Passive Tone Control, and to take from JRB I wanted to have Mike do the interchangeable neck p/u - from J to P and back with the quick connect. And now an Aggie pre... Geez!

Then again, I can just keep mine stock and order a new when I can with all these features! Oh ya!

WAIT! Aren't you going both ways with this? Keep the Sadowsky, get the Aguilar?

I guess my last post was pretty wishy-washy!!:D

I don't have any experiences with Sadowsky's products, but they're highly praised here. I'm thinking the Duncan Basslines/Sadowsky pairing will be awesome.

BTW, isn't Sadowsky's pre made by Aguilar anyway? Possibly there's someone who's used both pre's that could tell us how similarly voiced Sadowsky's pre is to Aggie pre's (?)

All this being said, I do think the Aggie OBP-3 is a fantastic pre. :hiding::D -But I'm betting you won't need to buy one.

It think Roger does his own thing, don't believe it is outsourced(correct me if I'm wrong). Having some experience with the Aggie OBP-1 and Sadowsky(NYC Modern 24) the Sad. is more modern voiced. Both are super agressive, but aggie more in the old school J way(not really but as compaired to a Sad.)

IME :)

The black on black one (right beside the 3-tone/white) is what started my Lull GAS to begin with, I believe that one is at Gelb Music in Redwood City, CA.

When the time comes for my full on custom order it will have that basic look just different electronics, etc.

First gig with the Lull a few months ago :D
Ok, I gotta' comment on this... :D

What you can't tell from this pic, is B.C. is a wildman on stage. He's known for knotting up is guitar cord REALLY bad. I'm serious, it's like a rats nest following him around the stage. Hey, it's part of the entertainment, so it's cool. :D

Anyway, so this particular gig, he's borrowing my wireless, because HE NEEDS ONE(!!), so he's enjoying some freedom... decides to walk down off the stage and sit down in the audience and proceed to continue playing through the song. :D

He got up to get back on stage JUST about the time I was considering lobbing a water balloon over there... then again... it was my wireless... ;) :D

Lol yes Vic is correct. I have a habit of pulling of pulling our lead singer's/acoustic guitarist's guitar stand around stage. Luckily, not with his guitar in it(it is a 3+ Grand Taylor ) so I borrowed it. I will be buying one soon(Vic more on that real soon).

Here is another more "accurate" one.

By the way, if you can't tell, its the Lull :hyper:

Let's throw this in while we're at it... I've never been into C.A.R. or Oly White but when I get a P I think I'll go for either color... Last night I was watching either Conan O'Brien or Carson Daly (I can't remember which) and the bass player had a C.A.R. M4V w/ matching headstock = GAS!!!
