Thats funny cuz I use Epifani for my jazz rig(String bass, Acoustic Image, Epifani) as well as rock gigs and it just has that growl that I need. Just wish I could afford a full rig.

Of course you're correct you can't gang cabs with the 310 with your current amp. However, I wouldn't call it an underpowered cab. The power diff between a true 4 ohms and the 5.3 the 310 is would not really be enough to debate over... at least not in real audible SPL's, so "underpowered" is probably not accurate to say.
The real issue is, how loud would this cab be compared to your current "310" config. It'd be interesting to find out, I'd think.
That said, it is true it probably wouldn't be much louder than your current rig, so if that's the case then yeah, you'd probably need to go to a config with more radiating space... maybe a 410 or something comparable. That should be enough for anyone tho. I've NEVER needed more than 4 10's... EVER.
Ok, cool. The reason I ask is because when I get a new rig, I want it to be able to handle any gig, so the 4x10 is probably the way to go.
I'm sure that would be a good combo Marc... When you are ready to buy a Lull just email the guys at the shop, Roger normally gets back to you within an hour or so and guys here have called asking to speak to Mike directly and everyone's been able to get to him that way. I haven't spoken to Mike myself, Roger has been more than helpful and I have been bugging him with random questions since I got my Lull in late April this year.
If I keep my Duncan/Bart combo in my M5V, my next one will have Fralin/Aggie...
For those keeping score at home, I had ordered some Duncan Basslines from Lull to replace some old Bart pickups in my Modern 5. WOW what a difference. So much nuance now available. Running through my home studio setup, the treble is now dead quiet whereas it was very hissy before. There's a lot of upper mid present now - you know, the growl that comes from maple.
So glad I made the swap. For those who may have Bart jazz pickups, if you like that traditional compressed Bart tone, more power to ya! If you're looking for something "more" from the tone, get the Duncans.

What was the config. on the Basslines and Barts....single coil or humbuckers?

The Basslines are hum cancelling and the Barts were single coil so that partially accounts for the quieter operation.
Overall I'm very pleased with the change out. I was also surprised at how much treble I had on the tone. I had to turn the treble WAY down to achieve the same tone.
+1. My pre(Aguilar OBP-1) has a boost only treble control, and it is predominatly if not always at 0. With the combo of Duncan agressive pickups and my J being in the 70's placement, there is no need for the treble boost.
However, this is not to discourage people who like the P thump to not get Basslines, because with my passive tone control, I can nail that P bass sound.
I was aiming for a super versatile instrument, and I got it!
Yup, the passive tone is great. It is warmer and has a decent vintage vibe.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever put an Audere in their Mike Lull. I'm thinking that those Duncans would sound awesome with the tranparent and more subtle boost/cut from the Auderes.

Stood up with a Fodera. Nice! Honestly, that doesn't suprise me. Most people see these as another J clone, but they really are something more.
I met Jorg at a get-together about 3 years ago right after he had developed his first cabinets. He's a great guy who builds a terrific cabinet.

My M5V has an Audere. It is very transparent and brings out a lot of nice subtleties in the tone. It seems to have a bit more mid, too.

What pickups do you have on your Lull? Can you compare your Audere to what you had previously?
My bass came with Basslines pickups and an OBP-3 preamp. The Aggie preamp is a bit wamer, but the Audere is far more transparent and has less of a "mid-scoop" to it with both pickups full-on. Plus, I like the Z switch on the Audere. It lets me add a bit more bass or treble when needed.
Wow, I've never heard of the Aguilar OBP-3 as a "warm" preamp. I have always heard it as a fairly hyped up pre.
I am really intrigued by the Audere giving me some upper AND lower mid control + the z-mode. That would be a tone machine!
I thought the OBP-3 was warm compared to some fo the Bartolini's I've used. The Audere is flatter and more transparent to my ears over the OBP-3.
