WOW. That is really great news. Thanks.

I'm really trying to put together a bass that will be as easy and comfortable to play as possible.

Recently I had a joint replaced at the base of my right thumb (they removed a bone and used half of a tendon from my wrist to form a new bone-like-sized replacement-and pin it in through a hole that is drilled in the bone of my thumb).

And after the surgery, the hand surgeon also diagnosed me to have Dupuytren's Disease--cysts and tendrils that grow in the hand that eventually cause the fingers to curl up into something close to a fist that can't be opened. There is no cure, but since they did catch it fairly early, there are some things that I can do (and some things I can eliminate) to slow down the progression; and hopefully have fewer and less frequent surgeries to remove the growths.

And one thing that is helpful for me to do, is play the bass. Playing the bass causes no trauma to my hand (severe vibrations and impacts makes the disease progress more quickly); it keeps my hands moving, flexible, and stronger--which also slows the progression of the disease; it helps me keep my mind focused away from the pain, and on the music; and I enjoy it--which also helps with my mental outlook of dealing with my other pains and injuries (I'm also disabled from a spinal injury).

So it is very encouraging to hear that I do have some options to try and get a very comfortable bass that will help me continue to play as long as possible; and hopefully help me stay functional as long as possible.

Next it is just a matter of trying to get the money together, so I can call up and place an order (and get some final recommendations to make my bass as comfortable, and awesome sounding, as possible).

Hey man, thats pretty cool. I knew the bass was important to health. You might want to check out Jay at Blueberrybass.com , he is great to work with for Lull and you can see what he has. Best of luck man.

Great score, Nino! The "For Sale" Forum has been brimming with Lull's for amazing prices the last few weeks - hell, even I was able to talk the Partner into this after I made up over 2/3rds of the price by getting off my lazy behind and putting up a few of my "rarely played" basses up, showing her I can be responsible. I'm on the move from a bunch of "Good Quality Midrange Basses" to "A Few Great Ones", and I figure a collection of 2 Lulls and 3 Spectors is nothing to sneeze at:

The particulars: Modern 4 in transparent red, swamp ash body with a flame maple top, birdseye maple fretboard, black hardware, controls in the "standard Jazz" layout, Lindy Fralin vintage single coil pickups, Bartolini 18v 2-band EQ with VTC and passive pull pot. I only things I can see changing is the V/B to a V/V setup and adding on a Hipshot Bass Xtender, but for a Jazz-type 4-string she's a 9+ to me.

Nino and Ian, congrats on your new Lulls! :cool:

B.C., Jay is my favorite retailer. Great guy IMO. I can't wait to hear what you think of your new Lull once it arrives. :bassist:

I'm working on getting another Lull 5-string as we speak.:hyper:

I was really considering this bass big time but I really wanted a 5 string.

That'll happen after I get dome with it!!!! I'm thinking Black hardware, getting rid of the p/g or making a clear control plate that I can attach with clear double stick tape.

It currently has a Sadowsky pre and I may take it out and put an OBP-1 or OBP-2. I already have a Valenti with Nord NJ5's and a Sadowsky preamp.
