hi ya'lll,

i'm not really moog-head but found myself in ashville , NC this past weekend and visited the moog store. didn't have time for the full tour but i did play with a number of they're pedals. they had this funny 6 string bass with these tiny strings tuned an octave up (gitarrr, i think) hooked up to some mini pedals. i tried this out but they didn't ahve it hooked up to the big foogers!

i'm interested in how i could use the clusterflux, 12 stage filter, and LP filter pedals. can you describe how these would be used and/or post audio links?

Kind of a loaded question as they can each make so many different sounds that trying to list them here would be painful. The Low pass filter for example can do anything from copping a pretty decent Mu-Tron sound, to an envelope filter sound that doesn't have the peaks of the Mutron, to a great drive circuit, to some of the craziest space sounds / pinball machine sounds if you start leaning on the resonance and use an expression pedal on the cutoff frequency. Just check out the MP3 that Adi77 posted above. SERIOUSLY CRAZY CRAP from a Low pass filter with some delay and trem.

If you do a search on youtube for Moog sound clips for bass you will find more than you might think. I think the comment above is very fair - if you don't get to really know a particular Moog pedal you are probably missing out on 85% of what it can do and it's really just an expensive stomp box.

the guitar section sucked but the pro audio section was nice.. SSL, API, UA, barefoot sound, neumann.. but studio gear is a blackhole man.. gotta be careful there

Dude what's the 141? I have never heard of it and Google is letting me down

very sorry bro.. its mp 201.. it is the craziest expression pedal, controls upto 4 variables (maybe more) at the same time. i think u can also program it so that it sweeps the filters etc plus midi sync.. it really is more than a mere exp pedal

I hate it when someone makes me start gassing for something that is $500 used on ebay but that looks too cool for words. Nice one Adi!!!

Plus I just bought the new Ep-3 which is much much more sturdy than the old ep-2 that an eight year old broke. Literally. That string connection was so cheap and plasticy that you would never have thought it was a Moog. One of the only disappointing products I ever bought from them.

yeah... i really should have bought it.. they had one in LA, it was $450 new, i ran out of cash, that and a modulus fb4 that i played at a guitar centre (maybe sam ash?) in rosemont..

i use the yamaha fc-7... works fine for me

The Minitaur pedal setup is very cool! Is that a custom build MPU?

Yes it's custom built. Fatar pedals, Doepfer midi-electronics and rest is made of recycled aluminium and school table tops.

Old Minimoog, Realistic (Radioshack!) Concertmate MG-1, Big Briar Theremin kit.

I met Bob at the nashville NAMM show.
They had just come out with the Theremin kits and he was wearing a hawaiian shirt playing a Theremin.
I tried to get him to sell me one already assembled but he made me 'man up' and build it myself

I've owned a bunch of Moogerfoogers but ended up not keeping them.
Fun noisemakers.
