I can't argue with that. But, it will fade. Here are some that I think held that prestigious position in the past:

I think this is just a Canadian thing but "Rockin' in the Free World" by Neil Old/Young is played at pretty much every cover gig. It is also one of the most commonly played songs at a jam with new players when somebody says "well, what do you know?"

I'm probably gonna get bashed for this, but I LIKE and am happy to play all of the above.
In my own experience, Johnny B Goode has the lead, but there's not much in it.
Wipe Out I hardly ever hear - probably more an American favourite.

I would say "Mustang Sally" but personally I never get sick of playing that groove. I hope I never tire of playing a Wilson Picket song. As a bassist living and working in Florida I have to say "Margaritaville."

I hated hearing that song at every wedding/party I went to. Then I got on stage with the house band at a blues jam in Baton Rouge back when I was in college and we tore into it. Possibly the most fun I have ever had on stage, ever. I didn't know the tune, they just gave me the key, and we played it a million miles an hour. First time I was able to pick up a tune and improvise through it without embarrassing everyone on stage. A big "aha!" moment for me. Been a huge Wilson Pickett fan ever since.

Oh yeah? I was listening to Bob Dylan's original version way before any of those guys stole it. Or maybe not, because I'd never heard it before. Bob Dylan has written so many songs, he probably doesn't even remember it.
