bass, eub, guitar, mandolin and sometimes drums. Mainly guitar and bass; always helps to play more than one. More than anything I'd love to get drum lessons just to be a better bassist.

bass, guitar and drums are my main instruments, although i could use a good 3-4 months of regular practice behind the drums. but i also play a little keyboard, flute and trumpet.
I began with piano, then trombone. Currently I rock my own electronic project leading with bass and playing the keyboard, drums, and many devices with knobs that are their own respective instruments
Electric bass, double bass, guitar, mandolin, lap steel and drums are the instruments I'm most proficient in, in that order. As a former orchestra student, I started my musical journey on the viola, then switched to cello and later to double bass and dabbled a bit in violin. As a woodwind repairman, I've had to learn to play-test the instruments on final inspection. I can't play flute to save my life (my father raised me well, lol) but I can play some scales on saxophone, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon.
I'm not bragging at all, I'm not gigworthy on anything other than bass, though I have sat in on guitar and drums a time or two. But bass is totally my thing

that describes my orchestral musical journey pretty much exactly.
i know i really like the viola, but i picked up cello as a junior in earnest and bass my senior year, and i truly wish i had went straight to bass and viola instead of cello and viola. i wonder if you feel the same way?
Actually, I switched from viola to cello because I hated how the viola sounded but I LOVE how cellos sound. My switch from viola to cello was the catalyst to me becoming a bass player because when I switched to cello I moved closer to the bass section and kept wondering "what is that gut-shaking rumble I'm feeling?" and discovered it was the double bass. So from 8th grade on I've been a bass player. It is the rumbly in my tumbly
I play keyboards (although, not brilliantly), and I also intend to get someone to teach me the bamboo flute I've got lying around.
There's this film "Tout Les Matins de Monde" where dude plays a 5-string viol (which I guess is more like a cello) and it sounds freaking amazing.
I originally started on guitar, picked up bass 10 years afterwards. I also play hand drums, some harmonica, and I'm a terrible drummer but I can keep a simple beat.

(I played accordian at age 10 for a little less than a year, but I try to erase that from my memory. Technically that was my first instrument before snare drum and then guitar).

Started with recorder, then piano, ocarina, ukulele, melodica, acoustic guitar, bass, dulcimer, and my electric guitar comes next week. Probably getting a pocket sax in a month or two, possibly getting a drum kit. And I sing, love love love to sing.
I have attempted harmonica, fife, and mandolin. Couldn't really get into any of them.

- Bass is definitely my main instrument; it's what I'm best at, what I'm most confident at, and what I play in two different bands.
- I'm pretty good at rhythm guitar, but I can't play very good lead.
- I'm a decent singer.
In the past:
- I started on piano way back at about age 6 but I can't play anything to save my life anymore.
- I played trombone (and baritone for marching band) from 5th grade all the way through high school, but I've only picked it up a couple times since high school.
- I also took a couple years of drum lessons (from Kofi Baker, Ginger's son!) but can't really do much anymore.

^ the above person can also manipulate pedals and make all kinda of awesome noise. With a bass, too.
I don't own one either. They are quite expensive pieces of kit. But if I had the money spare, I'd be all over buying one. I also don't own a drum kit, which is really weird, seeing as it's my 2nd instrument after bass.
^ Samsound is right. You can make a Theremin from Radio Shack parts for only slightly more than a happy meal. Why spend all that money on a fancy one.
yea...an opto-theremin to a real theremin is like saying "here's a speak and spell, you don't need a bass anymore".
It is a legitimate instrument, not a 2 cent noisemaker...
I play electric and upright basses, cello, keys/synth, some basic guitar, and I'm learning (slowly) the Chapman Stick.
I also play the yidaki(didgeridoo). Its the most hypnotic chillout instrument Ive played. Its also the worlds oldest instument. Its name is translated to "the sound of the Earth"
